Ibou & Nunez are the surprise absentees from what could be our starting X1 v Chelsea. Still nothing is set in concrete so let’s hope for a great performance from them all to give Klopp selection headaches.

This is our only tough fixture pre season, so it will be interesting to see how we get on vs quality opposition. It's a strong line up and we do have several dynamic attacking options off the bench will is great. That midfield imo will be the midfield that starts vs Chelsea.

With the exception of Konate and of Diaz and Jota being a toss up, I think the rest of that XI starts against Chelsea regardless if whether we buy a DM between now and that game.

I'd have expected the team you've suggested against Chelsea, with Jota just about getting the nod on current form. Last week I slightly favoured Diaz.


Curious how Szoboszlai and Mac line up. Will they go to the positions we expected when signed (Mac left, Szobo right) or was Leicester a sign of things to come?

A much more interesting game, albeit still only a friendly, in terms of how our inverted set up does against a team that has the players to test us a bit.


Of course it is also a Klopp vs Tuchel game and those have often tended to be terse tight games as Tuchel tends to set up to stop Klopp teams and turn games into wars of attrition.
