Silky skilled but loved getting into little scraps all over the gaff.

I know it was only his first game back from injury but I thought his performance was levels above where it had been prior to his injury, long may it continue.

Rumours circulating earlier that he’s out for 3/4 weeks but maybe not as bad as first thought

Don't have the urgency to check but i'm pretty sure we're a fair bit past 31% through the season.
          Hello mert.

The minutes thing isn't as black and white as most think it is - km and intensity is the key here - IF he's running more kph than last year year but doing the same minutes there is more effect on his muscles etc, etc.
I make no apologies, this is me

Si looks at this from a total minute’s perspective and he’s super accurate, I’d trust his analysis

He also tracks high speed running and KMs covered - as you say the intensity clearly matters

I’m not sure if “we’ve broken him” but increased load needs to be managed so as not to break players. Typically you add 20% more from the previous season as they are building their bases. We def did it with Bajcetic last season and overplayed him with his first introduction to senior football.

If we ever manage to keep everyone fit we have so many options to balance the squad

Assuming that is from back end of last year :

                "We discussed this repeatedly on
                @AIUnderPressure
pod during October then November AND December"

                  It is exactly that.

As of today Szobo is 60.5% through the potential league season and he has already played approx 115.5% of his prior to Liverpool league season average minutes.

If looked at in terms of potential games in all comps, then he is 56.25% through his potential season with his minutes played this season still a tad over 100% of his minutes per season average for his playing career before moving to Liverpool.

%'s might be slightly out if I missed a game or if the site I used had not updated his recent minutes but regardless he is already well ahead of his average minutes per season already with plenty of games to go this season.

How come our sports Science team hadn't picked up on this?

Can only assume they hadn't seen those tweets from Simon Brundish

He’s an elite coach btw but of course they know, Klopp decides what to do with the advice he’s given. It’s not like we’ve had full squads so some players needed to do more, such as Szozbo

We supposedly have good sports science guys monitoring fitness etc and have been heavily influenced by the stats etc in the past. You would hope that any potential problems would have been identified ahead of time and his minutes managed appropriately.

There’s no doubt it would have been monitored and everyone would have been aware, but the decision from the coaching team has been to keep playing him anyway. Or there’s been some opposing data or metrics which influenced them instead.

It very frustrating. We did the same with Baj last season and I’m sure we’ve done it with Thiago too (hard to remember for sure because he’s had so many other injuries)

You could argue we have done it with Trent & Robbo too. It's a brutal system to play in and exactly why a strong squad is needed to rotate.
