I think he needs a run of games with the same players around him before we see the best of him. He’s getting better though.

I thought he did well, struggles a bit with pace on the counter but having a DM in a DM position is always a good thing, he was combative and worked hard vs a very aggressive dogged Sheff side. Agree that he was our 2nd best player, in truth everyone was way behind VVD who was outstanding.

I dont think he is top, top quality and it was only against Sheffield who are really ****e, but he is better than Macca there.

I really wanted a Rodri level DM and he simply does not have the height or pace to do the job effectively at the highest level. But he does bring bite into the midfield which we desperately need.

I think he just needs to adjust to the pace a bit more and stop the clumsy tackles he sometimes makes. He is Milneresque in that regard. Leave that until the last 10 minutes.

It was clear early on the Klopp didnt view him as first choice in the DM role, but we have clearly adjusted our transfer priorities with Gravenberch, and probably now a centreback.

Mabe Baj or Morton can step up but both seem a long way away to me.

Was it really clear Klopp didn't rate him tho? When we signed Fabinho, Klopp pointed out how long it takes to learn the DM role in the manner that Klopp expects it to be played and that given the importance of the player, he cannot just be thrown into first team action but needs to be integrated correctly, and I believe Fab didn't get a proper look in until around xmas. Seems like it is the same progression line with Endo.
