I’ve only seen the highlights so who finished the match as our DM when 1st Endo went off, presumably MacAllister filled in at 6 but who played 6 when he went off for the last 20 mins?

On here people are only happy if we go three up by half time. It’s never going to be a procession. We were rocking for a bit after we went down to 10 for sure but we bounced back. Sometimes you’ve got to ride out the tough moments in hostile away games getting through to half time was us doing that. Second half, were we backs against the wall? No. We grew into the game and looked reasonably comfortable albeit 1 down. Then, at the exact moment we needed him to show us, Darwin arrived.
If we can be that midfield in there is reason to be very optimistic. We do need that top quality CDM and we need to sort out right back, but out with that what are our issues exactly? We’ve played 2 incredibly tough away games and come out of them with 4 points.
We’ve played with ten men for most of the last 2 games and come away with 6 points.

Watching MOTD2. The awful standard of officiating apparent immediately. How did Gordon not get carded for tuning his shoulder in to the back of TAA making no attempt to win the ball.
TAA booked for dissent. Gordon then holding his arms out in exasperation when TAA fouled him and Trippier also crying his tits off at the ref but no intervention.

Started watching the full game about 4 hours after it finished. Didn’t know the result. Thought we were doing well, away from home, against a well-drilled Newcastle side. But at 35 minutes, I was so disgusted at the officiating - didn’t agree with Trent’s yellow or Virgil’s red (flashbacks of Palace last year) - I decided to skip forward. Watched the last 15 and couldn’t believe the result. So proud of the team. Chuffed for Klopp (and VvD).
Haven’t read the thread/comments. Will do and I’ll watch the full game later.

Haven't seen that sort of fight in us and 'never say die' attitude for a long time. Was great to see and hopefully something we carry on with.
Some really positive subs. The energy Jota, Nunez and Elliott brought to the game made a huge impact. Props to Quansah too, couldn't imagine a worse circumstance to make your debut and he was really solid. Even noticed him marshalling the midfield and calling people into position like a proper CB should be doing. Great signs.
Darwin showed the boo boys he may not be a useless cunt after all. He's going to take a lot of confidence out of that cameo. Hopefully pushes on and starts finishing those types of chances with regularity.
Gomez showed signs there's still a player there. Would love to see him carry it through and get some belief in his body back. He can clearly play.
Endo - hmm not great circumstances for your first two games. But on first signs he looks a yard off the pace. Technically he looks fine, but just a bit slow and kind of lost. Early days though. I still think we need a more imposing midfielder in there. He looks more of a utility knife that an ever present DM.
Robbo - Worrying signs tbh. His touch and passing has never been great, but when he's put under any pressure he tends to give up possession easily and he's getting skinned defensively now too. Needs to lift, or he's next in line to get the chop.
Trent - Was an awful touch, the usual daft moment he seems to have early in games far too often. But why Salah is passing him the ball there also needs to be questioned. It was unnecessary and he was always going to have Gordon breathing down his neck straight away. The good sign is he turned it around after that and when Virg got sent off he was solid. Great to see some passion there too.

If the referee is was applying the letter of the law in booking TAA for throwing the ball away, why was the same metric not applied to all the Newcastle players asking for a 2nd yellow card?The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.Comment
