You genuinely wouldn't believe it with the constant 'so sick of this ****', 'have to accept we're **** now' type comments.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostOn here people are only happy if we go three up by half time. It’s never going to be a procession. We were rocking for a bit after we went down to 10 for sure but we bounced back. We also came flying out of the blocks with Diaz shot straight from Kick off.
Sometimes you’ve got to ride out the tough moments in hostile away games getting through to half time was us doing that. Second half, were we backs against the wall? No. We grew into the game and looked reasonably comfortable albeit 1 down. Then, at the exact moment we needed him to show us, Darwin arrived.
If we can be that midfield in there is reason to be very optimistic. We do need that top quality CDM and we need to sort out right back, but out with that what are our issues exactly? We’ve played 2 incredibly tough away games and come out of them with 4 points.
We’ve played with ten men for most of the last 2 games and come away with 6 points.
We also have currently the longest unbeaten record of any team in the league. 14 games I think. Not bad for a failing team - imagine when we get good!
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Same, I was made up when we equalised as I thought that would have been a good result, getting the win was awesomeOriginally posted by SB View PostStill can’t wipe the smile off my face having watched the highlights numerous times
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

The one thing that I can't get away from this season though is how awful the refereeing has been. We did the MacAllister one to death last week.
The VVD red card I don't have a problem with that being a red as long as that standard is applied consistently, but it won't be, if that was up the other end I very much doubt a Newcastle player is seeing red for that. The TAA booking, he did throw the ball away in disgust so yes it was a yellow card, but again that standard isn't upheld consistently, also the initial decision to say that wasn't a foul is crazy, not only should the referee see it, but there is a linesman and the 4th official who aren't far away who also have to have seen it. Having spent that time enforcing the letter of the law, 5 mins later with the TAA arm across Gordon about 4 Newcastle players are appealing for a yellow/red card, why were they not booked for that? We have already had a player booked for that this season and we have been told those were the rules. Then there was Joelinton who was allowed to do whatever the hell he wanted with no consequences, fouling, mouthing off at the ref waving imaginary cards, I'm sure the ref had a word with him about persistant fouling, then a couple of mins later he does another and nothing. The refereeing standard are a joke. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

It really does feel like something big, it was great to see. You could see how much it meant to the players after the game. Next game is going to be a tough one too. Villa are a solid side, very workmanlike in the midfield and set up well. Watkins is that type of willing runner that has given us trouble in recent times too but we do have more quality than them, very similar to the likes of Newcastle.
A win vs Villa just before the international break would be huge.

Yeah 100%. Hopefully that’s the line in the sand for Darwin & it’s full steam ahead from here. Looked better on the right for sure.Originally posted by Cerbie View PostSame here. They should never have been let anywhere near football this side of the world and the decision to allow them to buy a PL club was absolutely abysmal.Originally posted by badpiggy View Post

It's such a brilliant feeling. Can't remember the last time.
It felt very different to me than when Jota won it against Spurs last season. This was more against adversity and the odds and a team that are very easy to hate because of their money and their ****housery.Felching ≠ Gerbilling

Nunez did brilliant. Two amazing finishes. First one was epic and the second one needed some balls. He has huge potential and when he is playing on instinct, then he is a lot better.
****in loved his celebration on the 2nd goal. He was gesturing to our fans up in the heavens of St James Park but was obviously getting dogs abuse from their gammon fans. He just gave them a subtle wink and a kiss right at the end of it before turning away. Beautiful ****housery Darwin!!!!
