Hopefully this is just his agent backing his player and talking BS, Gravenberch has had a couple of seasons since leaving Ajax where he hasn't been a regular (1 at Bayern and 1 here) then this season he has played every week. As good as he has been for us this year if on the back of one season playing regularly he is looking for a move to Madrid (where he would likely not be a regular) that's crazy thinking IMO...

Chasing a new, improved contract I reckon.

Sell him for 60m. Easily replaceable.

He was outstanding at the start of the season, and still decent now.

Been a huge part of us winning the League and so young he can only get better. I think someone of his quality would be very hard to replace. Must be in with a shout for young player of the year.

For someone else that'll cost the same. Doesn't make a lot of sense imo

              Going nowhere.

Gravenberch cost €40. A replacement like for like would cost far more.

And when we signed him he was someone who was a promising youngster at Ajax whose career had somewhat stalled at Bayern, for me just looking at it from a financial point of view a 50% increase in value doesn't really represent the progress that has been made.

Also I posted this earlier but I am not sure why such a move would suit Gravenberch either having just established himself.

His agent has come out and mentioned he was speaking more about his own desires! As mentioned above seems more like a move to generate an improved deal.

I'm not sure Grav starts next season. I think he's been excellent for the first half of the season. But he doesn't offer enough cover for me. I think opponents are working him out a bit and he's knackered. I think we need a better defensive midfielder than him and I think he doesn't offer much going forwards. I'd keep him unless a huge bid came in. Same for dom. Nice energy. Very little end product. Keep unless we can improve.

Think you are being a little harsh on Grav in particular as he does a lot of the less flashy stuff that knits play together.

Only have watching him to go by but I reckon he is the player that cuts out passes from the other team the most in our first team squad.

He is insanely good at it for such a young player and as a result he rarely needs to make a last ditch block or tackle.

He is also great at receiving the ball under pressure, hanging out to it, then creating a bit of space for himself so he can find a teammate under less pressure.

He might have dropped off a bit in recent weeks, no doubt due to playing more minutes this season than he ever has in his career to date, but the last game he looked like he was on the up again. With only a game per week from here on in, I expect his levels to go up again.

Szobo I get what you are saying about him. He is a very talented player who appears to be much more effective in attacking terms for his country and he appeared so in Germany too.

But the flipside of that is his role seems to have become similar to that of Wijnaldum in that he is tasked to use his engine to enable him to be a shield for the right side of the team rather than bursting forward a lot. He still has 5 goals and 7 assists to his name in the league alone so is the best of our central midfielders in terms of G/A return in the league this season.

Now a bit of a caveat to his G/A numbers would be that four of them (1 G and 3 A) came in the game against Spurs)
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Equal most interceptions in the league this season on 53.
He has 166 ball recoveries which is 5th.

He does a lot of work you don’t notice as it’s not flashy but he gets himself in the right position and will only get better with the experience he’s had this season.

Overplayed and burnt out, phenomenal first half of the season, form dropped off a cliff in the last 6 weeks or so and that's on Slot for burning him out. Massive potential, not going anywhere imo.
