For the entire league. I think Antonee Robinson is equal with Gravenberch. I’m pretty sure Robinson was top of that last season too.Originally posted by Doc_Piptorious View PostEqual most for us or for the entire league?
I’ve seen those stats a bit during the season and he wasn’t up there earlier on, he’s moved up more recently I believe. Learning the role and developing the awareness and understanding of where he needs to be. Good signs for next season.Last edited by peterbread; 11-04-25, 03:38 PM.

Just dug into his interception stats for this seasons after you said it was for the entire league.
He has already made more successful interceptions this season (53) in the league than Rodri made in any of his full seasons with City (36 being Rodri's best season with City and 46 for Atletico).
Chose to check his numbers against Rodri as I regard Rodri as one of the best in the game at reading play and breaking it up without needing a tackle or block.
That is not saying he is on Rodri's level at everything else, but very promising numbers for a young player still learning the game.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

All players are eventually worked out - he's certainly knackered but doesn't mean he'll be **** next year.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostI'm not sure Grav starts next season. I think he's been excellent for the first half of the season. But he doesn't offer enough cover for me. I think opponents are working him out a bit and he's knackered. I think we need a better defensive midfielder than him and I think he doesn't offer much going forwards. I'd keep him unless a huge bid came in. Same for dom. Nice energy. Very little end product. And who would you suggest to replace them?
50 pct of transfers fail and there is no correlation between transfer fee and whether a signing succeeds.
There is huge risk in the transfer market so unless you are really convinced of someone better, better to keep the players who have been crucial parts of what will be a league title winning team.
Take the risk on replacing players who are more obviously on the way out.
Gravenberch and szobo are top midfielders. LFC shouldn’t sell either of them this year unless they attract fees over 100 mil which they won’t.Y.N.W.A!!!!!!

He's had a massive drop off in form since the turn of the year but he also has never played as much high intensity football like this in his career. I don't think Slot has done him any favours though. We had a ready made replacement in Endo to step in but for whatever reason, Slot has chose to run Grav into the ground. Maybe a lack of trust in Endo (who has always done a job imo even if he is limited) or just a blind spot in Slot... maybe a bit of both.

Is so obvious but never twigged it before, but Gravenberch at 22 (23 next month) will have five league winner medals to his name pretty soon.
And even though he would not have been a nailed on starter for all of them, that is a lot of experience of being in title winning/title chasing squads in three different countries/leagues at such a young age.
Can only stand to him as he gets a little older. Can see him being one of those players that is a senior player with a calm head by the time he hits 24 or 25.
