Quansah has been terrific and the potential is there. We also have to balance the excitement with the fact that he has played 6 league games. The signs are good but I’ve seen shouts describing him as a £50m CB, which is premature to put it mildly.

As for reinforcements, we could very much do with signing a decent player who is comfortable playing both RB & LB. That would be an efficient transfer & gives us additional cover at both fullback positions (along with Gomez) but also frees up Joe to play CB if needed.

Gomez has been covering left back and right back this season and Matip’s season is over, if not his LFC career. That leaves us with 3 CBs including Quansah. Matip needs to be replaced, it’s just a case of whether we can get it done in January or need to wait til the summer.

With Milner/Fabinho leaving, we’ve also lost 2 who we could shoehorn into defense. When quansah went down near the end of the first half I was fearing the worst. We need another injury in defense, like we need a case of the crabs

Forgot that Nat Phillips is back from Celtic and probably stay on as cover so no potential defensive transfers until the summer when we will have a bigger pool to pick from.

He has been a real positive surprise. From what I've seen I actually prefer him to Colwill who we were after.

Yeah, was a nervous few minutes when Quansah lost his footing and went down awkwardly.

If he’d had to go off, would have been Gomez at CB and Luke Chambers at LB

He obviously has star quality. Been around the England set up for a while and been in team of the tournaments. But really stepped up this season.

Really like the look of him, made a few passing errors last night but he is a bit of a surprise this season for sure but it's very early days. Do I think we should not buy another quality CB just because Quansah has done well? Absolutely not, imo that would be stupid. Konate and Gomez are injury prone & Robbo has had a long term injury, so lets not be short sighted when it comes to the squad and recruitment. We've ****ed ourselves over before doing this so imo if there is opportunities to make some deals happen in this window.. ****ing do it as we have a great chance of winning the league and we shouldn't leave any stones unturned.

Yeah his value is increasing with each & every solid performance. How much was being suggested we’d have to pay for Colwill in the summer ?

He’s been unreal. If we had signed him for 40/50m we’d be saying he’s been good value.

If you’re part of the u23’s or what ever it is right now you’d be working extra hard and listening to the coaches because there are going to be opportunities if you get yourself in the best possible position. I mean who had Quansah as one to watch out for like this.

I watch a bit of the academy matches on LFCTV & Steve Hunter is a pretty good judge of talent & I can’t even remember him talking him up as a potential first teamer tbh.
