If you’re part of the u23’s or what ever it is right now you’d be working extra hard and listening to the coaches because there are going to be opportunities if you get yourself in the best possible position. I mean who had Quansah as one to watch out for like this.

One of the surprise packets of this season. All the kids involved today must be buzzing.

He looks like such a huge prospect and is playing exceptionally well, I still think we need to sign a CB in Jan as there are plenty of games to go round

Yep just stepped straight in like he’s got 50-100 top flight games experience behind him

A seemingly intelligent footballer who also sounds like he doesn't need spoon feeding to learn how to progress

Read this a couple of weeks ago and thought it was really interesting

Jarell Quansah has revealed the depth of his study of the Liverpool centre-backs around him as he progresses his game.

The 20-year-old has achieved huge strides so far this term, making nine senior appearances for the Reds following his debut as a substitute at Newcastle United in August.

And Quansah, who is currently on duty with England U21s, explained how he has been using all the means available to him to continue his development.

“I used to get high-cam footage instead of TV footage so you could see everything; how the back line moves and a little bit of everything,” he said.

“You just need to ask the right people. The way I learn is watching players. These players have played 400 to 500 games at the top level.

“It would be stupid for me not to watch them. It’d be like having a resource and just throwing it away, I couldn’t live with myself if I did that.

“Virgil [van Dijk] makes everything look so easy, doesn’t he, and even when you’re next to him it is the same. It’s 24/7 learning really.”
