    Spurs Away thread

    Saturday 1730 away game.

Spurs have the advantage of no midweek match but we’ve rested the bulk of our regular starting side. Even if TAA is available I wouldn’t start him. The fact that Endo played the full 90 makes me think he’ll be on the bench for this even though he performed so well, particularly the 2nd half. So if Macca starts as our No 6 the only other questiona for me is who starts on the left of our midfield 3? I think Jones gets the nod personally. Then is it Matip who was rested or Konate who played the full match?

    My side

    Ali
    Gomez
    Matip
    VVD
    Robbo
    Szobo
    Macca
    Jones
    Mo
    Nunez
    Diaz

No surprises in that side due to the importance of the game.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

I’d go with the same side. Can’t wait for the game- If we win this, I’m going to start getting giddy about the title race!

I'm throwing Trent back in. Sounds like he'll be fit and if he's fit he plays imo. Otherwise same team.

Ibou was good last night also, snuffed out 2 decent Leicester breaks at 2-1.

Genuine competition in CBs with Gomez, Matip, Ibou and VVD.

Oops - didn't notice Matip in SB's team. Ibou all day long. He's a must, surely.

You are probably right in that he just walks back into the team, but think that would send a terrible message.

Gomez has done well at RB and on form deserves to keep his place imo. It should be up to TAA to displace him on merit and not just be guaranteed a starting berth.

Players should be able to know and believe that if they get a crack at a starting spot and play well that they then hang on to that spot until their form dips enough to warrant change.

Can't see him doing back to back 90 mins tho, much as I would love to see him at CB instead of Matip (no shade at Matip, I just think Konate has more pace and power, something that will be needed against Spurs) I don't tihnk he'll play purely because he's just done 90 against Leicester.

Massive game this. I watched the Arsenal / Spurs game and Spurs really grew into the game.

BUT - they don't half take some gambles playing out from the back, particularly on goal kicks. Hopefully we're up really high and on them instantly.

Yeah Konate is normally in my side but due to Klopp playing him the full match last night I think he’s planning on playing Matip.

Giving Ibou a much-needed game imo. Diaz and Nunez both played 90 v LASK and started at the weekend. Reckon it'll be Konate.

Spurs away is one of the toughest fixtures of the season. Got to be full strength.

We need a good performance and to be super focussed on how we respond to going 1-0 down.

Matip played to help counteract West Ham’s set piece and aerial threat, I expect Ibou will be back as well

I’d have thought we’d want Ibou’s pace for Spurs. I was surprised he played the full 90 last night.

                              I think we'll crush them.

Nunez, Diaz and Salah all pressing the hell out of them and could be a bloodbath.
