Both teams agreed to the replay in that instance.

Spurs aren't agreeing to replay this game.

There needs to be root and branch reform as to how VAR is used and operated coupled with how PGMOL operates.
This is the key point because at the moment these bellends seem to be operating as their own private firm, beyond the purview of any other organisation.

The thing is. We all have so much time and effort and emotional energy invested in the game and if it’s not bent because of some money laundering bull**** making one team absolutely dominant then you have this corrupt ****e on the pitch.

It’s really hard to live when all this bollocks is going on. Among many incorrect decisions there are two absolute howlers the goal and Jotas yellow both of which impact the result of the match. You can argue the toss on Jones red it’s harsh but to get all three going against us in one game looks very bad. They impact the points in the League, they impact the season. They make it all feel like a waste of time.

Just stop the ****ing game for 30 seconds and get the decision right.

        Absolutely fuming with this one.

…On top of that the tackle on Gomez was not dissimilar to the one Virgil got a red for.

We’ve had what 4 reds this season? Is any other team even near that?

Not sure you can blame them for that though, it's not their fault this **** happened and as much as I am fuming at this, if you replay matches because of errors with decisions where is the threshold? And perhaps more significantly the season would never end.

I'm pissed at this but the one I still can't get over is the failure to award Everton a pen vs City late in their game, acouple of years back. PGMOL apologised to Everton but did nothing,City won the game 1-0 and went on to beat us to the title by a point...
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

There have been 16 red cards in the PL this season, 4 of which have been to us, Burnley and West Ham are closest with 2 each. Last year we had no reds.

If the Gomez one is the one I'm thinking of as it was in the area double jeopardy means it would have been a pen and possibly a yellow but not a red card. Also it was near the back of the penalty area so not necessarily denying a goalscoring opportunity. Looked like a foul to me even if it would have been a soft pen.

Sent an email to PGMOL using a freedom of information thing to ask the propcess for determining offsides... Guess I'll get a reponse saying that they are not obliged to answer, but it is worth the effort... Maybe others could do the same?

Aren't freedom of info requests only for public bodies e.g government, council etc? I don't think it applies to football authorities.

I have said before though that in the interests of transparency they should do videos explaining the process

used [email protected] not sure if that is the best option, but like most corporations, they like to hide contact details...

Yo are probably right... thought it was worth a go though... If enough people do it, it might force their hand... </glad thoughts>

It just needs repeating. It doesn’t get any easier to read. How can they not have a process to ensure this is impossible FFS.

I simply refuse to believe that two people in the VAR room could be so negligent as to think that the goal had been given.

What lead them to believe that it had been given?

What communication was there between ref and VAR room?

Another point....isn't the linesman meant to wait until the passage of play has completed before raising the flag for offside? It happened in the second half when Spurs were attacking us. Alisson was doing his box at what was clearly an offside and the linesman only raised his flag after the passage of play had completed.

Do they not talk to each other for offsides?

Ref - can you check the offside, the linesman says it’s offside.
VAR - yes it was offside it’s free kick or no it was onside the goal stands.

                              It’s not complicated.

I mean the ref has to communicate what he wants checked and what the on field decision was and then the VAR responds with a clear answer therefore making sure both know what is being checked and what the on field decision is.

I hope that the club, the press, whoever asks for the audio so we hear what happened. There is no point in them going on sky showing clips of them getting decisions right and saying look it works. How about you go on and show five wrong decisions, explain what went wrong and how you intend on fixing them. I’d be more interested in that.

I don't believe it either. For that to have happened means that none of the VAR team were actually watching the game.
