As I've been saying to my mates all along. Get paid with dirty Arab money. How do they justify the extra 100s of k's in their bank accounts? Simple, just ref a meaningless game in Dubai or something and you can hide it in those earnings.Originally posted by Mark79 View PostThe mainstream media highlighting this too now

Wasn’t it Romero who put the ball in for the Matip OG and then took his top off to celebrate - no yellow. Further inconsistency, he should have been sent off too for a second yellow.
That two match officials were in the UAE mid-week, either working for or guests of City’s owners is a huge conflict of interest. Not to mention it could clearly have impaired their fitness to officiate a late kick off on Saturday.
I think Harv is right, so much went wrong yesterday that we need to push for a replay and a change in the rules so we can all hear what is said in real time just like Rugby. Without that transparency they are encouraging the corruption vs incompetence debate. We are here for a good time not a long time....

Chances of a replay are practically zero, I think the only way it happens is off the back of Spurs agreeing to do so (like happened with the Arsenal - Sheffield Utd cup tie all those years ago). And as Spurs won the game what incentive is there for them to do so? They got the 3 points, best case scenario is they play an extra game and win by a bigger margin boosting their GD, but there is a significant chance that they end up with less points.Originally posted by Cerbie View PostWasn’t it Romero who put the ball in for the Matip OG and then took his top off to celebrate - no yellow. As I posted earlier tribalism is a big problem in getting changes in the game. Fans of other clubs are too busy laughing at us rather than thinking it could have happened to them, so they won't push for anything, there will be an investigation which will conclude it was human error, a mistake that shouldn't have happened... but nothing significant will change, the officials will be stood down for a few matches and in a month or so much of the football world will have forgotten about it.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Agreed on the chances of a replay, but if you don’t ask you don’t get.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostChances of a replay are practically zero, I think the only way it happens is off the back of Spurs agreeing to do so (like happened with the Arsenal - Sheffield Utd cup tie all those years ago). That human error can cost us 3 points, when there are 6 officials & all the technology at their disposal should be an embarrassment to PGMOL. It demonstrates that despite assurances to the contrary it is not fit for purpose and needs to be improved. We are here for a good time not a long time....

One would think now that the var refs have got a small slap on the wrist for being absolutely ****, liverpool would put in a complaint to get the jones red overturned as well as demand points or something. Maybe blacklist that cunt ref from our games. You know, SOMETHING. Ferguson would have had him blocked from their games for 10 years.

Agree we should be going on the offensive to leverage the position we are in through no fault of our own.Originally posted by vlahka View PostOne would think now that the var refs have got a small slap on the wrist for being absolutely ****, liverpool would put in a complaint to get the jones red overturned as well as demand points or something. Even getting a ban overturned for Jones would be a result - surely the PGMOL have punished us enough for one season? Hopper should be no where near any of our games again. We are here for a good time not a long time....

Refereeing in EPL is a joke, wildly inconsistent and the refs all cover each other to absolve blame.
I think the ref yesterday when he discovered the f-up, decided to **** us further in the hope we would lose by more than 2 so it wouldn’t matter. “you would have lost anyway, stop complaining” etc etc.

To be fair to the referee, I thought he was **** for the whole game by the way, but the disallowed goal is on the VAR team and the VAR process. The ref did alot wrong but that one wasn't on him.Originally posted by pondus View PostWhat I don’t get is, when you have ****ed up so monumentally, like the worst refereeing **** up of all times and all parallell times, how the **** can you send off Jota for two tackles where not one of them is a yellow? In regards to the Jota sending off, the first yellow is a joke, but having been booked you don't make that 2nd challenge, it's a really stupid thing to do, especially given the situation in the game and having been sat on the bench for half the game having seen the ref send off Jones and disallow Diaz' goal.
From the referee's point of view who knows I think he had lost control of the game by then. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
