After Sky News first aired the footage, Mike Wedderburn spoke to Kaveh Solhekol about it, and he (Solhekol) said the "Oli" was Michael Oliver, which then led to Wedderburn asking if his audio should be released, so Sky must have changed (or corrected) some details.

No, it’s the Replay operator who is communicating that Oli (Oli Kohout, the VAR Hub Operations executive, or ‘PG Comms Hub’ in the video) is also saying to delay the game.

If that offside was the last action in the game they could call it back as a goal
There’s been penaties given in matches from VAR checks whilst the game has continued. The game is then stopped and penalty taken

At the very least Darren England could tell the Ref what has happened and let him make the call.

We’re always told PGMOL want the decisions to fall with the ref where possible, VAR is only to advise.

England just didn’t seem interested in doing anything about it.

Because obviously awarding a penalty is more important than awarding an actual goal ffs. Shambles

The ****ty overly pally nicknames for each other is ****ing bull**** too. That's how you get spineless tossers not wanting to embarrass a friend. It should be a much more formal calculated process.

It's not moved on to the next phase though. The ball has stayed in play.

Once the ball goes dead, they check. Once it's been restarted it's moved on.

This is the thing, they have all the silly rules that are about letting the ref be the one to referee the game, but the don't give him the power to do it, everyone knows that the referee isn't allowed to bring the game back once play has restarted, but scrapping 30 seconds of nothing in the gameto correct a major error is the only sensible thing to do, the fall out from that is much less than what is happening now, most people would give the ref some credit for making the best of a bad situation and getting the right outcome albeit bending the rules, compare that to sticking to the rules and dealing with a monstrous **** up. It's a no brained, or at least it should be.

It just demonstrates that VAR isn't there to get the right decision, just to protect the referee. The end situation of this is referee has done everything by the rules but the result of the game is compromised

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

The same scenario could play out while a VAR review is being carried out in play, with next phases. I believe you go back to the corrected decision.

Which in this case would mean 1-0 to us.

Yeah totally understandable, massive game changing cluster**** mistakes by the officials is definitely something that you simply cannot stop play for.

We should all just shut up, be thankful that PGMOL have said sorry not sorry and move on with our lives.

How ****ing convoluted is that process. Could be simplified to

'Linesman flagged for offside, can you confirm please'
'Player was onside, confirm onside. Goal should stand'
                                'Cheers mate, good process'
