Just looking at the fixtures so long as Trent is back for Chelsea and Arsenal then it shouldn't impact us too much.

It is the inability to rotate at the back that worries me. Overplaying Gomez especially, and Konate and not being able to give them a rest really worries me.

Gives other plays the chance to step up.

Jones and Konate very much look to be good organisers and gee uppers along with both having the physical qualities to allow them to lead by example as well.

Gomez the other night against Arsenal seemed to talk a lot to Quansah throughout the game.


Think of the regulars out injured or sick only VVD or Robertson are cut from that leadership cloth and the former looks like he will be back real soon.

Quite a few of the guys available right now look to have a quiet resolve or grit to them that can then translate into calm organising when on the pitch.

The grind will kill us. The league is there, focus the senior squad on that and ONE of the cup competitions (Europa for me).

If only there was something we could do to strengthen the squad. Like, specifically this month as well.

I don’t know if I can buy into that level of actual corruption but I think there must be some unconscious bias at play sometimes, most of the refs are from greater Manchester/Yorkshire and I suspect they hated Liverpool as kids. It must also be said that the officials **** most clubs at one point or other because of their absolute incompetence.

VAR should’ve been a sure thing and they’ve ****ed that as well - it’s taken so much of the love from the game and when you factor in the cheating from City then it gets harder and harder to stomach
