I've been of the opinion we haven't had any real idea how to attack for 2 years now. In fact for most of klopps tenure, the goals have come from creating intense pressure and forcing mistakes or individual brilliance from the likes of Mo, Mane and Bobby. It's worked really well as we've scored plenty. However as the players have got older and form drops we are left with this rather slow plodding about. City create real chances and are clinical. We create a whole lot of half chances and either through bad technique or lack of nous now struggle to finish them. We've always been at our best when playing fast hard football. As soon as we slow things we are shown up to be average.

Be nice to have some real thought into how to create clear chances. An attacking plan again.

Les Ferdinand was on a football podcast not long ago and was asked about what happened when they were a distance ahead of Man Utd and looked set to win the league under Keegan.

He said it had absolutely nothing to do with the 'I would love it' presser. In fact it had everything to do with the club's assumption that the league was theirs. They had staff walking around with 'League winners 95/96' blazers. It was down to arrogance.

Not saying we've been arrogant but instead I think the players have been affected by the upheaval at the club half way through the season. It's a whole new structure top to bottom, coupled with a manager that's burning out before our eyes.

I think 3rd and a cup is a magnificent achievement as has being in the conversation for the league title.

But if you look passed that you can see our players standing almost in a direct line with him so our guy cant pass to anyone. We dont even try to move to free ourselves up so they pass back again. Its dreadful to see every match them playing the same way with klopp yelling on the sidelines and they dont even listen. He was standing there yesterday during the game just adjusting his sleeve. He's completely given up on these clowns.

I mean just look at this. It happens so often. Our players are spaced so wide and the entire middle is littered with them. We have zero forward options and when we make a stupid pass they can maraud down past our highline of 3 useless defenders. This frequently happens. What ever happened to the quick diamond passing we used to do that let us move around the pitch? Completely forgotten.

Yeah this is spot on, the lack of movement or intelligent movement to get into a space to receive the ball is so obvious and so ****ing frustrating.

I know I have been banging on about this for a while but the Salah-Mane-Firmino forward line looked so effortless. I assume that there must have been alot of hard work in drills and patterns of play. When we had those 3 in attack if we had a break you felt we were going to score and some high percentage of the time we did. Now we can have 4 vs 2 and you know we're going to **** it up. Surely the Salah-Mane-Firmino front line must have been practising those situations and their link up etc (if they didn't that's even more impressive). My question would be are we not doing that anymore or are the players just not getting it or what

We have to make sure we win all our games now. I know this sounds bizarre but I think if we do that we’ll still come really close to winning the title (goes to final day)or winning it outright. Honestly, when has this club done things the easy way?

So basically, beat West Ham on Saturday and we’re back in it imo.

There is no point in approaching it in any other way. Sure, it is unlikely. But when City had the Aguero moment I am sure they felt that was unlikely also.

It's mathematically possible but we need to win all our games (which based on current form is unlikely in itself) and we need both City and Arsenal to slip up in at least 2 games. It's not happening

Nah come on, I'm an optimist, but it's completely gone now. No chance.

Anyway with our current mentality we will drop more points I'm afraid. Our heads have gone.

I am left hoping Arsenal win it, as they're not cheats, and for my money they have been the best team in the league this season. They deserve it.

I still feel 3rd is a decent result this season, but it feels worse as it looked like we were going to win it for a while.

Time to move on and just enjoy the last few games of the Klopp era.

I was furious with the lack of movement and dogged determination to stick to the plan what wasn't working last night. They left the changes too late, half time was the time to do something different when it was 1-0 and we had a chance. I was raging at the Robbo and Trent subs too - I cracked open an Eldorado 21 to drown my sorrows after the game.

In the cold light of day, we need to put that behind us and do our best to win the remaining games, who know what will happen with the other teams. As 2012 showed, anything can happen if we can keep the pressure up and still be in touching distance on the last day.

I wonder how much is also down to mental scaring from all those tight battles with city that we could never get past them. When you need the experienced players to step up and lead the new ones they look at City being in the race and after so many close battles being lost they just couldn’t do it again. If it was us and Arsenal only it might be a different story. Even they have wobbled a bit to let City back ahead.

Since the new year Liverpool have two clean sheets in the Premier League.

In the last 15 matches liverpool have conceded in 13 matches, the only two matches that we have had clean sheets re against Bournemouth and Nottm Forest.

Didn’t they say last night we have conceded the first goal 16 times this season.

Is it the system or the players? I’d say more the system leaves us unbalanced and open in certain areas. Plus we definitely don’t press and win the ball back like we used to especially high up the pitch.
