Does Kelleher count maybe? Bradley and Clark got minutes in the cup, maybe they count too?

Klopp does give a chance tbf, Elliott, Jones, TAA, Kelleher and Quansah all have important roles in our team.

Who are the 9? Surely not Elliot who'd already played senior football at Fulham and came straight into our first team?

Pretty sure that although he got minutes in the first team after joining us that he went into the youth set up at first and did not get a senior contract until a year or 18 months later due to his age. Which would mean he technically was part of our youth/Academy set up for a period if the person who compiled the figured was looking for a hair splitting way to include him.

Add them to TAA, Jones, Kelleher, Quansah, Doak and presumably Elliott as he's pictured the numbers don't seem to add up, either they have missed players or got no of appearances wrong or there is some weird criteria

I don't think the number of PL career games would add up if you excluded him

Nat Philips would also count as an ex academy player currently registered for the 2023/24 season.

Nat wasn’t registered for the 1st half of the season at least because he went out on loan.

Plus if he counts, then other guys like Rhys Williams come into the equation and it’s well beyond 9 players at that stage.

So the figures are just wrong then.

Either the number of players is wrong or the number of games is wrong. Maybe both or they are just being free and easy with what counts as an academy player.


Did a dig into the 23/24 squads for a couple of the other teams listed and the ex academy player numbers for some of them are wrong too.


For Spurs, Skipp on his own has played 67 PL games for them and Tanganga, if we are only including players that were registered at the start of the season, has 27 league games for them and he was registered from the start of this season and only went out on loan this month.

They also had six players that went through their academy rsgistered to play in the PL at the start of the season according to their 2023/23 squad listings.
