There’s a bit of truth in this regarding this season

Apparently we have the worst record of top six teams vs other top six teams

Those big refereeing decisions have really made an impact on that.

And we have the best record against everyone else.

Just 4 points dropped against non-big 6 teams (inc Chelsea) so far.
        Oh I don't know.

The last 4 draws are frustrating. The dominant team in each of them, mad how we haven't gotten at least 2 wins from them.

Arsenal away defeat, deserved, fair enough.

Spurs away, an absolute corruption of a result.

Arsenal away, whilst it was our worse performance of the season, we might have got away with a draw if it wasn't for the VvD / Allison mix up.

Yes, if we lose it, it is a combination of poor refereeing (Spurs, and one other I forget) and not being able to finish off top opposition. Sadly it is likely that the former at least would get us over the line if done properly. The margins at this level are just so incredibly fine, we can't afford a poorly refereed game against us, or games where we don't fire up top. I hate Guardiola and City - they've done this - but it is part talent and part... you know.. the other bit..
              Really?

Reflecting on the Atalanta match, I thought the team looked pretty gassed. It might be physical, might be mental, might be a bit of both. It's a been a long season with a ton of matches and not the biggest squad in the world so it's not surprising, and the big man is off in a month. Probably a lot to carry for the squad and I don't know how Klopp can deal with that at the sharp end of the seaon.

There’s injuries too. Of the top three, we’ve been the worst effected by some distance. Arsenal have kept their best players fit all season.

Shocking how we didn't learn from 2 seasons ago. The season after that was a washout too, doesn't bode well for whoever is coming in

Not entirely sure what you can do with that though. We're never going to have a hungry bench of world class players all vying for their position, and ducking out of trophies early so you don't have less games doesn't send a positive message. And what can you do about your manager wanting out? We're probably going to need a massive clear out this summer to freshen everything up.

We always have a lot of injuries though, I can't remember a season when we didn't recently. Either we buy knackers or it's a training/playstyle thing. You can legislate for Mo and Allison being out though I suppose, but Mo is knocking on...

The League Cup was won by half a team of kids.

It's the senior players that are coming back from injuries who need to come in fresh now and give them team the same rocket boost the kids did.

It's not necessarily the physical strain on the players, it's the fixture congestion and relentless preparation in between league and European games. Sometimes a rest and a break would've been nice.

The kids have the U21 league, if making room for the domestic cups over the course of the season is the tipping point then they're just not needed.

The final was. All of the other rounds were largely on the back of the senior players.

Same for the FA cup, bar Southampton were we again forced into playing the youngsters because of all the injuries.
