New Manager for Liverpool 2.0

It’s claimed that while he is currently under contract with the German national team, that contract is set to end after Euro 2024.
At that point, Nagelsmann will be free to go where he wants, meaning Liverpool can get one of the top coaches in Europe for free.
That is in contrast to some of the other names who have been mentioned.
Sporting Lisbon’s Ruben Amorim would cost around £17m, while Bayer Leverkusen are likely to demand a big fee to let Xabi Alonso move back to Anfield.
Likewise, Roberto De Zerbi is under contract at Brighton and won’t be allowed to go for nothing.
Nagelsmann, then, could well be the ideal option for the Reds and FSG.
Lauded as a ‘phenomenal‘ manager by journalist Ben Jacobs, Nagelsmann ticks a lot of boxes for Liverpool.
And if he’s available on a free, then that makes the move all the more enticing.Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

I’m not a huge Eddie Howe fan 😂 I just think some of the arguments here are lazy and contradictory. Nagelsmanns achievements aren’t actually so far apart from someone like a Howe. He won one Bundesliga at Bayern and was sacked the next year.Originally posted by SB View PostAt least he’s achieved something so far, unlike Howe
A blind donkey should be able to lead FC Bayern to the Bundesliga.
Xavi is stepping down from Barca, another one who should be nowhere near potential names.Y.N.W.A!!!!!!

I don’t think Ange has done enough yet in the prem or another top European league to get a shot at Liverpool.Originally posted by vlahka View PostWould perfer Alonso. I dont like Nagelsmann's face so hes not an option for me. And as a greek australian, I absolutely dont want postacoglu. Can we just get an Ai to learn all of klopps methods and stick a cut out of his face on a computer screen, put it on the touchline?
Maybe in a few years but I doubt he’d be leaving spurs so soon.Y.N.W.A!!!!!!

It sounded like you were heralding Howe to his doubters yesterdayOriginally posted by Corndog View PostI’m not a huge Eddie Howe fan I just think some of the arguments here are lazy and contradictory. But the fee involved in getting Nagelsmann fits the bill for our owners imo.Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Our owners paid money for Brendan Rodgers. They would have forked out for Klopp if he’d agreed to come while he was still at BVB. They won’t choose anyone just because they’re free. I don’t think Nagelsmann will be among our top choices at all.Originally posted by SB View PostIt sounded like you were heralding Howe to his doubters yesterday

He left a great job in Brisbane to take over Melbourne in Australia when Brisbane were dominating. He’s from Melbourne and Melbourne are a much bigger club. Then just into his second season at Melbourne left for the national team job.Originally posted by red g View PostI think he seems like a man with principles. Not sure he would do that after 1 season
Not saying he’s got no loyalty but he is extremely ambitious and confident in what he does. If he got a chance at Liverpool I think he'd jump at it. I think he has the big personality to come in and get the respect straight away. I think he’s got what it takes but wish this had happened this time next season so he’d have had two seasons in the league before coming in.
Ignore that I’m an Aussie from Brisbane so I’m very biased but a huge fan.Last edited by peterbread; 28-01-24, 12:25 AM.

Nah I think if you look at my original post he’s not one of the first names mentioned.Originally posted by SB View PostIt sounded like you were heralding Howe to his doubters yesterday

Thomas Frank would be my preferred choice. I’d be happy enough with a younger coach like Alonso who could be here for many years vs someone like an Ancelotti that is obviously very experienced and has a very good track record but tends to only hang around a few years at most at each club.Y.N.W.A!!!!!!
