Given where they are at the moment surely he's just jumping before he's pushed. Given his history with them you would assume that is his dream managerial job.Originally posted by Scratch View PostKlopp announces retirement, next day Xavi is leaving Barca...hmmmm.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Didnt have Nunez up front though.
He was missing starters due to the AFCON, including his best striker in Boniface.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Agree with much of what you have said though I would add Thomas Frank in there if the likes of RDZ etc are to be considered.
Personally I think Klopp's announcement yesterday means one of two things though (especially as the club has known since November), and those are that is the next manager is all but decided upon with agreements are in place with him and his current club or a big change in ownership is on the cards and the new owners know who they want to be brought in.
Both scenarios would explaining the clearing of the decks of the coaching staff and of the close to immediate vacating of the DOF role.
My gut says it is the former option but who knows.
The clearing of the decks means that a clean slate is in place for a new manager and his backroom staff come June. Not a chance businessmen like FSG would have that clean slate lined up this far ahead of time without being sure of who is coming in imo.

My absolute clear favorite is Xabi, OK, maybe a bit inexperienced as a coach but he's done incredibly well at Bayer, and he was doing well with Real Sociedad too, won them a promotion to Segunda Division for the first time in 50 years, he was also relegated the season after mind you. But he has experience in playing and working with young players which suits us well.
He played under some the best managers, and with the biggest names and ego's and in the biggest games. We should go all out for him. No one else really does anything for me.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

I think it is worth the risk on his relative inexperience.
We are here for a good time not a long time....

A relegation did not hurt Klopp early on in his managerial career.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

From the Beeb:
Ian Dennis, BBC Radio 5 Live senior football reporter
Bournemouth's technical director Richard Hughes has emerged as a primary candidate to become sporting director at Liverpool.
Hughes, who is rumoured to be leaving his role at Bournemouth in the near future, is known to be a friend and close associate of Liverpool's former sporting director Michael Edwards.

David James: "I think Edin Terzic at Borussia Dortmund should be the next manager. He’s the type of guy that can speak properly and handle the media. Whether he’s good enough in Liverpool’s eyes is another question.

100% agree. Gives a manager the experience of dealing with results going against them on a regular basis and also the experience of handling players and staff in such an environment.
Always a good thing for a person to know how they react to when the going gets tough.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
