I don’t think xabi will choose Liverpool over Munich if he moves at all.

He’s a smart guy and I think he probably knows it isn’t a very easy gig post klopp with no current DoF.

If this is the case, I’d rather the club went for a more experienced candidate like a Thomas Frank or an Unai Emery.

Klopp hasn’t been around as long as Ferguson or Wenger but if you look at the experiences of United and Arsenal immediately post their great managers, it’s not going to be easy to follow on

Yep.

Nobody in any walk of life with an elite or self confident attitude will not want to follow someone else for fear of falling short.

You see it as there being a platform already in place from which you can excel from.

Strong mentalities always think/feel they can come in and be the best.

Totally agree. If Alonso leaves Leverkusen this season I honestly believes it’s to us . Carlo just signed a new contract so I doubt he’s leaving & it’d be a huge slap in the face if he joined the opposition straight after depriving them of the title. And that’s why it makes perfect sense to join us. I think secretly we tapped him up & got a good response before Jurgen & his entourage announced they are all leaving a year early.

The timing of Klop's decision would have allowed the club to interview Xabi during their winter break too. I rekcon it's a done deal and Xabi asked us to keep it quiet til their season is over.

You only have to at what happened after Klopp's announcement, none of them knew about it, but within a couple of days there were ITKs claiming they knew who we had spoken to about his replacement, BS it's all speculation. We are a particular target for it because there is slot of interest in any LFC story.

We’re not really the target in this latest update though. There’s an overlap of course because we’re also linked with Alonso, but this is more Bayern centric and coming from Sky Germany.

Maybe so, but we won't wait on him as we will push ahead with someone else.

The 2nd favourite, Amorim, is now linked with the Barca job & I can see him taking it due to closer proximity to Lisbon if he doesn't want to uproot his family too much.

Tbh the more I get to know about Ruben Amorim the more I’m moved towards him as my favourite, seems to have more of the ‘Liverpool way’ about him, excellent man management, exciting counter pressing football and big into the culture. He seems less of a risk also. Would be happy with either but if we miss out on Xabi I’d be more than happy with Amorim.
