I read that he has refereed 18 PL games this season there have been 27 rounds of games so that suggests that typically he does 2 games every 3 rounds of fixtures, so not really sure it's significant.

I assume that refereeing assignments are made with factors like this in mind, put him on VAR for a week and let it blow over, it's not a punishment, but it allows people to take it that way if it suits their agenda.

That's bollocks though. He's getting punished for something thar benefitted us, basically they're unhappy that he didn't apply the usual **** decision that cost us

He's a **** referee & he made a wrong decision that has had a disproportionate amount of media coverage. It's not really punishing him, just taking him out of the spotlight.

It's not like he's been sent away for extra training, when he comes back the following week, he'll still be a **** referee.

How wrong was his decision....i know we, as the audience, can see where the ball was when he blew the whistle, but I'm guessing the last he saw of the ball, before glancing back over to Konate and deciding a whistle was needed the ball was still in the area?

I get Forest's anger about recent decisions and feeling they aren't getting the rub of the green, the decision against Man Utd where Man utd had a goal allowed that was similar to the one we had disallowed in the cup final days earlier has had alot less attention from them. Is this the straw that broke the camel's back is it because the Man utd one was subjective and they feel this on isn't,or is it because of who the opposition were?

I've said this earlier, the Forest player had possession for about a second and it was on the edge of the box, I am guessing the situation changed within the reaction time of the ref whistling, he is rightly looking at the player who is down determining with pin point accuracy where the ball was when the whistle was blown isn't a priority. It looks like a genuine (fairly minor mistake) unless he has admitted he didn't know the rules which would make it more of an issue
