Thanjk you.

As it happens, I agree we should cash in, the value to age ratio does make it a no brainier. “But he’s scored…” is fine, and it’s the clubs job to use the money to find a younger replacement for them.
Shows we are creating - peak Salah would have had 4 today
I remember someone on here saying they 'hate' Salah in his first season as he was the most frustrating player they ever watched and should be scoring more. These days happen.
He wasn't great today, but got a goal and almost an assist which is what he does. On another day, he could have been brilliant and not scored and we drop 2 points. For me, this has been one of Salah’s best seasons and it totally baffles me why people are determined to portray that he's past it.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
I'm in the camp that you sell players after not too long after their peak - when they can still do a job for other top teams, assuming that peak is not a million miles above everyone else, so that you get a good fee for reinvestment into younger players. I suppose the question is how much better is Salah in a few years compared to a couple of prospects in a few years time? It's a bit random, but I suspect we'd be better off as a club. Then there is the more sentimental argument that you don't want to see your heroes doing well at other teams - which is real. How much would you like to see the club spend on sentiment versus protecting itself for the future? I've seen lots of my heroes go to other clubs over the years, so I guess I'm inured to it. I'd sell him before his contract ends if a decent bid came in, besides which, the next manager can't build a team around him so it would make sense if he went in the summer. Love him, but I love the club more.
We have been spoilt with Salah and the standards he has set and he can be taken for granted a bit. Wouldn’t want to get rid of him yet and all this talk of huge offers is a bit skewed by the Saudi offer which I don’t think he’d take and who else would offer us that type of money.
Don’t forget how valuable he is off the pitch. We still need the older players leading by example. That leadership and experience is invaluable. Look how much influence Milner had over the years. I know there is the wages and all that but he’s still contributing massively on the pitch.
Maybe letting him see out his contract would be the solution but if he’s happy to stay on a lower wage and take a slightly reduced role would you not be happy with that.

Aye same with me. I don’t get it. It’s always about what he didn’t do not what he did. Statistically this is one of his best seasons and he generates so many chances also.
I want him to end his career here - **** the money, he generates plenty of that for us also.
I was absolutely loving watching Salah find space that no other player could. And shouting for him to be subbed asap, almost at the same time. Really weird feeling today.
I think Salah is warming up to a high goals finish again. This will help our goal difference immeasurably. Hopefully startng against Sheffield.
Yeah we could cash in but what's the opportunity cost of letting him go? Think of the things we'd be missing out on even if we did find a replacement such as experience, what he can teach the youth team etc.
Modric is still kicking around at 38, thirty ****ing eight!
Are we saying we can't afford a replacement if he doesn't go?
"We oil the jaws of the war machine and feed it with our babies."
31 is still young. With his fitness and physical level he can go another few years at his current rate I bet. The annoying thing is if he decides to leave on a free at the end of his final year because he isnt content anymore what with a new manager coming in. What they need to do is find a replacement manager and get him in quick, and get salah to sign an extension. If he doesnt sign then check what others would want for him.
I reckon he goes on a free as a 32 year old. Cant really complain about that. I could see him signing a new contract if offered. Not sure we will unless he has an outstanding year next season.
