Me Neither, would be a risk imho. I’m pretty sick of this current **** show, but I’m willing to give Slot the remain of the season.

My first choice would probably be Emery if Slot was sacked.

Emery would be great but Alonso could be incredible.

Emery is pretty solid, but doubt he'd leave villa until the end of the season as they are doing so well.

        Another possible option...

Then sporting director Richard Hughes' decision to replace the popular O'Neil with the little known Iraola was a brave call - but the Spaniard has repaid the now Liverpool executive's faith.
They finished 12th in his first season and ninth last year with a club record top-flight points tally of 56.
However, Iraola's current contract expires at the end of the season to raise doubt over his long-term position at the club.

Alonso delivered an invincible season for Leverkusen. Has worked with Wirtz in his breakout season. No brainer.

Absolutely no brainer. Alonso now please.

When we lost 9 in 12 a few months ago there were no suitable candidates. Feels like ‘when’ not ‘if’. Either now or the summer.

My strong preference too. Need to do it now while Alonso has a chance to get a signing or two in this window to suit his style.

Failing that, Klopp until the summer please, then Alonso.

I've had enough of the turgid ****e we have been playing all season.

Very much in the same boat. Thanki that, unless we had a really big influx of new players, that we would end up with a style of play very similar to what people are complaining about now.

Have a gut feeling that Slot will get to the end of the season, get CL footy and maybe, just maybe win a trophy with big ears.

The boat I am on though, if Slot does go in the summer, is my self made Simone Inzaghi pedalo
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Wouldn’t we need the same types of signings with Inzaghi? He’s a 3 at the back so it would be the same big changes.

Doubt he’d be available but the dream would be someone like Enrique. Proven winner who plays good football and knows and wants to develop young players and has worked at Barca who are one of if not the best at this. He seems very happy at PSG but maybe the temptation of an another big club challenge could get him.

Ideally I’d prefer someone with plenty of experience like Ancelotti.

I like a Alonso but I know part of it is the Liverpool connection. If he didn’t have that I don’t know how I’d feel about him as a possible replacement.

I think Alonso will bring a feel good factor back among the fans, as he obviously has alot of good will from his time here as a player and the fact that he has done well as a manager in Germany. He also knows Wirtz (and Frimpong) well.

To be honest I don't know much about his style, he seems to be a tactician in a similar way to Slot rather than a man manager like Klopp, how does his man management compare to Slot's? In the short term I think he might improve things new manager bounce and the good will that he has might enhance that somewhat. But I don't think we are seeing a dramatic turnaround where we'll suddenly put in title winning form (not talking about the winning the league, more meaning the kind of points per game run that would win a title if maintained over a season) because changing the manager isn't a magic bullet, we will still have a limited squad, we will still have players who can't play for more than 60-70mins.

I agree with the idea that Slot could be here until the end of the season and if we make the top 4 there can be an amicable parting of ways. There's no way we are winning the CL though...
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I didnt realise that Iraola was out of contract this summer too.

Surely with the previous link to Hughes, he would also be under consideration.

Id prefer Alonso to him though. I think the fact that he knows Wirtz well, and made him a star, means that surely he would be favourite.

I still think Arne can save himself though.....

I want a manager that has plans on how to deal with low blocks. I don’t think Iraola is that person, Xabi should be the better fit for us in that regard plus like you say, he knows Flo & Jeremy well.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.
