Think that is fair. We can still have a decent season and is up to Arne, his backroom team and the players to get that outcome.

Think CL qualification is the cut off point, but if we came a close 6thafter finishing the final months of the season strongly but also won the FA cup I could see an arguement for giving him another season.

We also need to consider his highly we rate Xabi, he is available now and if we rated him more highly than Arne then we might not let it pass. There could be clauses in Arne’s contract re payoffs in the summer vs mid season etc etc. That is all speculation so who knows.

However, if Xabi went to City for example that almost effectively rules him out of a future managerial role with us due to “loyalty” etc. I always thought it would be a summer decision and in fairness the last two games were really good. What I’d like to see is progress, defined patterns of play, a good process for attacking and defending as a whole. There were times Arne sounded like he had no idea how to fix things and he just went low risk which killed our attacking output.

We are building the next iteration of the team now so I hope we get the right coach to make them better than the sum of their parts

Something has to change our league form is brutal.

How many games have we not been able to hold onto a lead this season and Slot flogging the same group of players into the ground unwilling to rotate and getting the same result week after week.

When the shackles are off and we playing our natural game which was for about 20 mins in the 2nd half and a few times this season, we are great to watch and the lads look so much better suited to high tempo. When Slot meddles or tries to set us up his way, we are horrendous to watch. Whether he told the lads to retreat or not after the goal is up for debate but we were all over them and then as soon as Dom scored, we had a massive drop off.

The problems are systemic at the moment. We spent and sold really poorly.

OUrt squad is not fit for purpose at this point.

Its not all on Slot, but our tactics are not right either.
