Was just thinking, imagine Slot dropped Salah on his last game for us because he's arsey about that tweet.

Carra with some truth. He did get into Slot a bit right at the start of the season about how the team was setup and I think most of us dismissed it as it was a new season with new players.
This has been happening from the first day of the season on a Friday night against Bournemouth.
Liverpool have far too many weak players, physically and mentally, and it has to be fixed. It looks like Arne Slot is going to be the man who has to fix it next season.
But this result does nothing in terms of the feelings of the supporters around his
position right now. Liverpool don't excel at anything. They look like a really average team. They have been taken to the cleaners.
New players won’t fix this if anything I feel it’s going to get worse because the more time he is here the more exposed we are to his inadequacies. What kind of reactions are we going to get from the players if he’s still around next year doing the same thing that’s not worked this year.

Hope Edwards goes as well tbh, I don't think you should put so much data emphasis on hiring the head coach/manager.
Communication, leadership and adaptability is hard to measure, Xabi would have gotten most if not all the fans on board instantly, someone like Nagelsman or Hoeness will not IMO, huge doubts over both of them, Hoeness has not won anything nor managed big players.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

The value in what we did early in the data stuff was picking up players who were flying somewhat under the radar, they were decent players but not seen as world class (Salah, Mane, Robertson...) Last summer Isak, Wirtz and Ekitike weren't exactly subtle in that regard. While the data works, we need people with fight, desire, determination etc, the data doesn't tell you thatOriginally posted by The_weatherman View PostHope Edwards goes as well tbh, I don't think you should put so much data emphasis on hiring the head coach/manager.

But that is assuming he would have chosen us. We as supporters are saying he would, but two jobs in a row at clubs where managers tend not to last but get massive salaries may say otherwise.
Said it before, I think Alonso is a fan of Liverpool but does not want to be the guy in charge of Liverpool.
For me I think we ned to stay away from ex players and the like. It rarely works out when a club legend player returns years later as a manager.
Kenny first time around does not count imo as he was still at the club when he became player/manager so was just a transistion whilst still with us, and he still had Bob and Joe helping out behind the scenes.
Kenny in his second period would be an example of a legend coming back to manage after years away.
Plus if we look at our recent history, say the past 40 or so years. How many of our ex players that became managers actually became established top class managers?
Much prefer to go after the very best manager we can get and let that guy build his own reputation with us whilst he rebuilds us on and off the pitch. We can then attach sentiment to him once we get to "know" him.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Maybe, but it seems we didn't even ask about him. For me, we missed out on a manager coming up, who cares if he wants to play a different system, we're not even playing a system today.Originally posted by Doc_Piptorious View PostBut that is assuming he would have chosen us. Says who though?
A bunch of guys posting on social media saying they have inside info?
The only people that know for sure are those at the club and Alonso and his people. For all we know we approached him and he was not interested or wanted too big a salary or whatever.
All just as likely as us not having tested the waters at all.
Makes no difference now either way. He chose Chelsea as the club he wants to go to, so that's that. All we can be hoping for is that whoever is in charge of Liverpool next season does a hell of a lot better than how things went this season.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

I can think of lots of ways you could use data to understand those things.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostThe value in what we did early in the data stuff was picking up players who were flying somewhat under the radar, they were decent players but not seen as world class (Salah, Mane, Robertson...) Regardless, I don’t think the team has a problem because of any of those things. They are for sure low on confidence but I don’t believe any are not trying.
The problems are tactical (poor coordination of pressing, gaps too large between players) and physical (lack of pace and injuries)Y.N.W.A!!!!!!

So Tap In reports the exact same thing that was said about a month ago about how Enrique would be signing a new contract once the season ended.
