Starting to feel a bit like Rolando at United. Paid a fortune and people will stick up for him becuase of G/A but think he is more of a problem than a solution jnow.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostSalah has got to go this summer imo. Paying a fading player 300k a week so he can leave for nowt next summer has to be a no-no, particularly with his ego being greater than his value on the pitch._____________________________________
Weak willed, Wank or do they have a masterplan?
Think we have the answer..Slot!!

Arn-uh SlotOriginally posted by Scratch View PostUnless Slot has seen a way that he can be used, that doesn't involve him covering the ground he does, keeping him fresher, sharper. We know how Klopp would play him, but what role does Arne see him filling?
Also, Arne...is it Ar-nee? Ar-nu? Or some other pronunciation?

I agree that the timing is right to sell Salah for big money to the Saudis.
I donÂ’t think the squad needs an overhaul at all. The new midfielders have bedded in well and will be better next season.
I donÂ’t think Trent will be off. I think itÂ’s possible he could play in a double pivot at the base of midfield if he had a player like endo next to him but who knows if slot would consider that.
In terms of additions, I would consider:
Jeremie Frimpong as he can play right back and as a winger but then again maybe that would block Bradley.
A central striker if Nunez ends up sold. I would take Watkins but I doubt thatÂ’s what the club would do as heÂ’s a bit above their age profile. Perhaps Openda from Leipzig.
A DM if slot keeps Trent as a RB or if he decides to upgrade on ends. I think endos done great but he does lack that bit of acceleration. Depends also whether slot sees the potential in Bajcetic.
CB replacement for Matip, Tosin from Fulham on a free. Tomori. I think Chalobah at Chelsea could still turn out a decent CB but has been blocked there.
Others to consider: estupinan, the left back at Brighton.
Musiala - heÂ’s primarily a 10 who can play wide so not a proper out and out winger but if itÂ’s true heÂ’s potentially leaving Bayern and there is Salah money to be spent, the club should go all out. HeÂ’s a generational talent like Bellingham and I reckon heÂ’ll end up at city otherwise.
Xavi Simons is also tearing it up and worth a look if PSG don’t decide to take him.Last edited by Corndog; 29-04-24, 11:44 PM.Y.N.W.A!!!!!!

I recognise that we need to let a few first team players go in this close season, which will leave a few gaps in the starting 11, but I really hope we give some of the kids a chance to stake a claim. We've got some exceptional talent and they're ready when they are ready. Remember, Fowler, Rush both broke into the first team and never looked back. We've a number of youngsters like Quansah and Bradley who are just ready for first team football - maybe not 60 games of it in a season, but certainly staking a claim for a best 11 place.Really?
