Second game

Liverpool XI: Kelleher; Bradley, Konate, Phillips, Robertson; Jones, Endo; Ben Doak, Elliott, Gakpo; Darwin.

Subs: Davies, Scanlon, Gordon, Nallo, Van den Berg, Morton, Blair.

Sepp on the bench and Phillips starting ahead of him, might be close to a move if he’s not starting in this one. He’s been starting ahead of Phillips all pre season.

Still think we need to be looking for an out and out striker as Darwin is hit and miss and Diogo is quite often injured.

Been a bit of a struggle for us in this half against a poor side. CBs look bit uncomfortable trying to pall ball out from the back, the midfield looks pedestrian and slow to release the ball. Lads are scatty up top too.

He has been pretty much all preseason.

Yeah he's been good and should flourish in such a possession based style, as he's so tidy on the ball.. whereas a few others who aren't so technically gifted will struggle. You can see some lads panicking in possession.

Nunez been woeful and Gakpo so quiet. Midfield lads in Jones and Endo look so slow and ponderous in comparison to lads in earlier game. Not many lads apart from Harvey putting themselves in the mixer for the opening game.

Sep looks to be about to go, based on not getting any minutes in these two games.

That second game felt like early preseason. Gakpo and Nunez should be bench players only. I would play Elliot ahead of those two as well. Jones really needs to truly understand the meaning and feeling of passing the ball quicker. He just doesn't see big pictures around the pitch.
