Yeah, that's the Chiesa that raised my excitement levels when we first took a punt on him. I even watched his road to recovery film, and I never do that for any player.

He has every potential to becoming another Gravenberch success story. WE might end up regretting not adding him to the CL squad.
    One tit for another.

That was my thought watching the highlights.

      THATS the Chiesa i remember.

If he's playing like that then i don't see how they cant be giving him minutes tbh. Rio's a great talent, but he's not at that level yet

If it’s that chiesa, a mistake to omit him from the CL squad

Yeah, when Chiesa moved to the left, he made more of an impact in 5 mins than Rio had done for most of the game. If Chiesa keeps improving he’ll be challenging Gakpo for starts and giving Slot another selection headache.

He look so sharp yesterday, I know it's vs Southampton etc but was great to see. Get him fit and match sharp in the prem and maybe, just maybe we might see some of why alot of clubs wanted him a few years back.

He's the type of player you genuinely want to see do well too, great attitude, works hard, no drama or complaints & always smiling.

He never really looked fit enough last season but he looks absolutely ready to go now. He seemed to constantly pick up little niggles which held him back but with all the work he did last season and a full preseason he looks great. He was everywhere last night and match that with the effort and desire to make things happen and the quality he has he could be an important player this season.

You can make changes to the squad for the knock out phase (if we qualify) maybe we do that?
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see him start on the Left on Saturday.

I would, but only cos he ran his socks of for 90 mins last night, so expecting him to play from the start on Saturday doesn't seem like a Slot type of move.

I think there was a rule change recently that makes it possible for clubs to swap out a player with a long term injury in the league phase. If, as looks likely, Leone is going to be out for some time, then Fede can be brought back in.

100% this. He’ll be on the bench but I’d expect him to get 20-30 mins. If he can bring that endeavour again from the bench we’ll be incredible
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Chiesa was good last night but not sure how he’d get on as a CB

The main difference with Fede is he has bulked up since last season. He’s much stronger and more explosive nowadays. He’s capable of dealing with the physicality in the PL. Add this to his skillset he’s hell of a player and he’s only 27

                                I didn't know that
