What’s wrong with Drogheda by the way? Genuine question as all I know of is the fact it has a long and interesting history.

Oh, and the flights are still on! This time tomorrow I’ll either be getting lucky or smashed on Guinness

At the risk of derailing this thread but the fact that Jaco would go to Dublin over Drogheda says it all….. I agree with him

Close to Dublin then Kilkenny, Birr and Wicklow are good

We are pretty much in 24 hour lockdown here. No public transport, everything shut.

The only advantage of Drogheda is you are that bit farther away from Cork. The accent is arguably alot worse though.

Kilkenny is a good shout though. Nice to visit with some decent things to see and do. Might be a bit far for a day trip though. Plenty to see and do in Dublin as well though depending on what your into.

I used to drive regularly from Belfast to Dublin about 25 years ago, the road used to go through Drogheda (and Dundalk) and was always a traffic nightmare. Think this distance was just over 100 miles but 4/5 hours was fairly common.

                  Think Stoke.

                  Think Burnley.

                  Think Leeds.

                  Think Newcastle.
