Interesting hearing Micah Richards on Sky saying our players hardly ever get injured. I mean obviously he is who he is, but interesting that a lack of injuries has started to seep into common understanding, given what we know about previous seasons.

We've been lucky that the injuries have not wiped out an entire position or two, like they have for Arsenal, Spurs and City (in as far as they didn't have anyone else to play in Rodri's position).

We seem to have at least one full back injured at any time, but one recovers in time to replace the freshly injured one.

Last season was a different story of course.

Dunno man, I mean look where we were at this stage last season. All clubs get injuries like that, but this time last season we had just kids, we've now got pretty much a full squad.

Absolutely love this performance today it bodes very well for the next few months.

Showing a different side to how we can play and getting the job done. This is like a classic European away performance. If weÂ’d played any differently second half we would have given City what they want an open game.

There are lots of ways to win. Digging in is one of them.

I found it close to unbearable I get what you and others are saying but games like that don't feel like a masterclass in real time for me. I know if it was the other way round, I'd easily be saying "we could have played for 180 mins and not scored". And while Doku's end product was poor, I was absolutely NOT in any way zen about him running past TAA time after ****ing time. But I was punching the air at Mo filling in for him and Szoboslai too. I'm delighted now but it wasn't enjoyable.

During the commentary, was it Neville who said about great teams having more than one way of playing as opposed to a strict ideology that you live or die by? I'm all for pragmatism in football as long as it leads to variety.

I know what you are saying also, but ultimately great teams find ways to win tough games and the fact that we had the noise to realise that felt like a big step forward. I WAS NEVER NERVOUS BECAUSE WE HAD THE 2 goal cushion.

I do wonder how we’d have played if it had stayed at 1-0, but recognising we had a 2 goal buffer it was the sensible play. Factor in we’ve not beat them at home for ten years none of that team have won away at Coty in the league - it was a massively impressive performance and whilst City were given lots of possession they didn’t really have any big chances.

The other exciting thing is we can get better

How good was the corner. After offering nothing from corners then we pull that one out and pretty much perfectly too. Adding goals from set pieces will only make this team stronger. Also long as we don’t have the camera going to the set piece coach every time, but we don’t have one at the moment do we.
