It doesn't influence the result but just wondering if VAR checked their goal? Based on where the GK was and the Southampton player who won it back by challenging him, I would have expected a long VAR review for a possible foul, determining whether it was Alisson or the Southampton player who played the ball, whether the Alisson played the ball deliberately, whether the player was behind the ball, whether there was a defender behind Alisson etc. In my mind all these were tight and made ingredients for a good 5min VAR check or am I missing something obvious? Because none of the highlights I have seen suggest a VAR review

As Dermot Gallagher pointed out, the Southampton goal was offside. The guy challenging Ali kicked the ball towards Smalldick who was in an offside position.

Yeah at worst it was a foul on Ali every day of the week except yesterday

Was a clear offside. Totally missed by VAR.

I don't know how clear it was. It was difficult to tell from the video and even some of the stills I have seen since but the situation clearly calls out for a VAR check feels like a massive mistake by them if they didn't look at it.
