Doesn't seem too bad. What did you expect?

If anything, club/council to blame for not providing facilities, bins, toilets etc.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

They can’t do the bins these days in case someone drops a bomb in one.

They could do those festival style urinals tho I suppose. Apparently the queue for the ladies in Spoons at Fiveways was an hour long.

We made the stupid decision to get on the Drive when it reopened, the clean-up along that part of the route was done an hour or so after the bus had passed and it was just as bad as those photos immediately afterwards.
We are here for a good time not a long time....

I thought there would be some portaloos along Strand. Luckily toilets in German bar in Hannover Street were handy to get to, but getting back was almost impossible.

Being from Belfast there are parades every bloody week and walking the dogs is a nightmare after, so those photos in comparison look almost spotless.

Other than the car attempting to drive up the packed street, was there a reason that people started kicking and punching the car before it took off?

Well yes, there's a video of him reversing into some fella and the car throwing him about 5 meters back. Presumably before that he had been pretty aggressive with his driving.

I'm loathe to speculate but it may have been the same fella that lobbed a chair into or through his back window before he accelerated.

I saw that bit, but the car was attacked before that I think?

None of those main city centre roads should have been open for vehicles knowing how busy it was, really ****ing stupid decision by Liverpool City Council. It was chaos there yesterday.

Have they confirmed it was open. I've been working on the assumption barriers have been moved out the way potentially by the crowds to give more space once the bus passed. Short of having police at every junction and garage along the route it's difficult to prevent every possibility. I suppose the police could follow the bus but if they get held up by crowds it would still create a gap and effectively removing the protection they provide. I suppose this is the type of analysis and incident reviews will need to make

                    Copied from fb...

A lad I know was there when it happened and this is how it played out - police opened barriers, car drove through and got stuck in the crowd - tried to reverse clipping people - a few of the crowd supposedly family/friends of the people he clipped naturally saw red and banged on the car to stop him - he saw red and drove forward clipping more people - crowd were angry and rightly so so opened his door - he saw red and instead of driving down the clear path of the road ‘seen on videos’ he purposefully drove through the crowd. So this narrative about it being the crowds fault can just stop right now!!

The people of Liverpool are like one big family, we come together and support one another - in the biggest and smallest of ways. Just look at what happened afterwards offers of lifts home for people stranded and offers of food and warmth in Liverpool homes - we are one of the most friendliest cities in the world but if you ever try to hurt us or slander us you will regret it.

The decision to reopen the street to cars while it was still so clearly congested with pedestrians is going to take some explaining.

It was closed from what I read but opened to allow an ambulance in which the guy tailgated.

Lets be honest, if you know theres a massive parade happening along a street, you have to be an absolute giant thicko moron to even drive anywhere near it. There are plenty of roads through the city. Be smart or stay home.

I figured it would have gone down like that. What an idiot.

Yeah that is consistent with what I have heard as well and much of what I have seen from videos (really been trying to avoid them but it's impossible on social media). Seen various people trying to blame the fans for provoking him by hitting the car claiming that scared him into doing it etc, which feels like certain people pushing agendas. The hitting of the car seems to have been in response to him reversing his car into people.

As others have said you have to wonder why you would be out in your car in that situation, there were supposedly in excess of a million people in the city, you really don't want to be driving anywhere near that route if you are expecting to get anywhere.

As someone who lived in Liverpool I know how friendly people are but was still amazed by the number of people on social media offering help to stranded strangers, giving lifts, offering places to stay, even just a hot drink or somewhere to charge their phone or use the wi-fi to contact family
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
