I hope so. Dom needs to sit at the tip.

They were both great last night

Did he create one after winning the ball in the penalty area on the right side?
He also made the most recoveries of any player, thought he was very good tonight.

Indeed. On face of it he has nearly everything Bobby had inc naturally unselfish instinct which is key for that role. Might miss a bit of Bobby strength.

That is properly impressive! I wonder how he'd play in the Firmino role between peak Salah and Mane?

He’s looking sharper & it’s just a matter of time till the goals & assists start racking up.

He’s put a few on a plate this season and we’ve not converted… the pass for Dom couldn’t have been better.

You can see he is class - clearly acclimatising. Thought Arne made a good point on there being really no down weeks or easy wins in the PL where you might get quite a few walkovers in other European Leagues so getting used to that is a big change in itself.

He's constantly looking around to see where everybody is; as soon as he saw the ball break his first reaction was to look in the middle to see who was up with him before he got anywhere near the ball, and played a nicely weighted pass to Szob.

The acid test will be if he can get a foothold in the Premier League and drive forward.

It could work very nicely having him off the left long term if Salahs replacement would be someone with pace who could also play up front like Semenyo.

Defend in 4-4-2 with Wirtz and szobo out wide and whoever is at RW up front alongside the centre forward then have Wirtz roam when the team are in possession.

Probably would need to account for quick breaks down the left though. Stick with robbo in the short term

Brilliant. We've played with a midfield three for years now, so changing that to accommodate Wirtz was always going to be a challenge

LW with freedom suited him to a tee tonight

Is this his role now out on the left with the freedom to move about? Looked much better.

And he deserves the credit for his work rate. He was non stop getting back and supporting Robertson and never slacked off.

Part of the problems have been everyone stops moving and he ends up passing to nobody, when someone should be moving into the space.

Him and Ekitike have to start together now. You can see they have a great understanding already.
Right from the first game they played together they up linked so well. I’d like to see Chiesa play with both of them regularly too. Those three offer something different to the usual attacking players with their link up play.
