I thought robbo was way better. Defended well bar the winner which i doubt many fullbacks would have covered.

Robbo was good on the ball but his lack of pace means he stands off in case he gets too tight and they go past him. The cross where Enzo hit the post came from Robbo standing off and there was at least another one that I remember. The goal again is just him bring too slow, not much he can do about that.

The thing with Kerkez that is baffling is how we are using him. At the start of the season he was playing v close to VVD and now he’s inverting quite a lot. When he does get wide Gakpo ****ing ignores him and cuts in and shoots (what a surprise). He was brilliant for Bournemouth as a high and wide fullback yet we’re not seeing that, it can only be tactical I assume.

Maybe stick robbo as LB and send Captain Kerk down the wing, we have seen how he can do it.

it's bizarre, we've bought players based on a level of performance and were attracted by their certain style of play for their previous clubs and have proceeded to stifle their natural game and completely negate the reason why we bought them in the first place. I don't get it.

Spot on; he's terrified of getting done for pace so backs off and backs off and backs off. He's was doing that all the way into our area when he came on yesterday, just welcoming opponents into dangerous positions. How anybody could construe that as good play is incomprehensible.

                  Opinions eh.

I thought the changes at half time made us better in possession. That lasted 20-25 mins. Then the game was so open we had players out of position when they broke. Gakpo is a big issue with Kerkez and had a very bizarre game, he seems unwilling to link up with Kerkez, and even when Robbo came on Gakpos pass selection and decision making was always wrong, he hold the ball when someone made a run, and pass when they didn’t.

FWIW I think Kerkez is a very good player, but we aren’t getting the best out of him for sure.

I honestly have no idea what’s going on. I do wonder if they’ve tried to change things and have looked at both fitness and tactics to fix the two areas most people talked about last season. Dealing with teams sitting deep and getting used to Slots tactics and running out of energy.

Is the team a bit underdone in a plan to build and peak later in the season and hit top form after January but it’s not worked and that’s why they are struggling.

I know they would be looking to change things slightly as Slot has mentioned the need to always evolve as teams figured them out more in the second half of the season. Have they overthought this and tried too much.

I thought with the quality of the new players and having better depth with players the manager trusted it would be more of a help along with some slight tweaks to the setup.

Let’s hope the break is exactly what Slot and his coaches need to have some time to analyse the season so far and come up with some ideas of what needs to be done.

Robbo is a legend but he is not the answer to anything right now, his years of effort have caught up with him and he’s no pace anymore

I know robbo isn't the ideal LB anymore. I was more thinking of using Captain Kerk on the left wing to capitalise on his attacking strengths as thats mostly why we've bought him.
He can go wide on his left side and cut back low crosses into the box.
Gakpo is inverted so will always try and come back inside to shoot.
This isn't allowing us to get the best of our expensive main attackers.

It certainly is perplexing why we bought an attacking fullback and Slot seems to have zero interest in him actually attacking. It's hurting the team & even if I haven't seen impressed by Kerkez's performances, curtailing his natural game really hasn't done him any favors.
