How are we so unfit and injury prone when the whole team runs on the spot and lifts their legs about before each half and then is clapped on after.

Not only that, many of the squad are struggling at 70+ minutes, which leaves us vulnerable to late goals.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Have you ever tried to do that? It's knackering - there's your answer.
        Really?

Also with Hugo, Isak, Leoni, Conor and Wataro, all having big injuries you have to wonder if this periodisation stuff prepares them properly for the physical rigour of a PL season.
It sounds like the stuff of a small team though. I mean I get it, but so many things have to go right, whereas a squad of 25 elite players - not so much. We're not City so we have to manage the team somehow, but in our league players get injured for turning up, so trying to match the method of a league where players simply struggle for fitness and can generally only get injured by over-exerting isn't really a thing. In the PL players get injured because the oppo try to injure them. It doesn't really translate that well.

Periodisation attempts to reduce the rigour in training to keep players fresh and available. The biggest example of periodisation working is Ibou, if you remember he’d get lots of muscle injuries but he’s been ever present for the past two seasons.

Then someone like Frimpong shows that the intensity of the legume is also a factor so perhaps some adjustments need to be made when swapping from a less to more intense league. He literally never had an injury before and now 3 muscle injuries with us.

The guys you mention above are just “unlucky”, their injuries have all been impact related for the most part and it probably has little to do with training methods. Isak, Conor, Endo were tackle related, Leoni and Hugo were just plain unlucky. I did read that we are doing far more gym work than before so our lads should be “stronger” but I have no idea if this makes you more or less susceptible to such bad injuries.

            **** bad luck

Looked for sure like an achilles tendon snapping, he's young which should help a lot. I snapped my tendon in 2016, playing old boys, didn't really look after it properly and was 35 at the time, I feel he could be possibly back in 6-9 months.

I didn't get surgery since the doc commented on me not being an athlete so I feel someone young, getting top rehab and surgery could be back way quicker than we think.
              * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Tbf that solves the isak conundrum.

                        Now some wide forwards please.

Get well soon Hugo, terrible injuries those.

We will defo need to sign some kind of utility forward that can cover multiple positions now. No chance we can rely on Isak staying fit as sole CF until December.

Yeah it looked a bad one, so not surprised by the outcome, presumably will take a while to get fitness back as well so could well be close to this time next year before he is back playing regularly

                              Bloody hell, that's brutal.

We are so ****ed. We need a new manager, a new way of playing football, a new midfield, three attackers (including salah's replacement, and ideally Gakpo's), a new CB or two, a new left back, a new right back, probably another goalkeeper. Essentially, we've turned a title winning team into a total rebuild job and spent an unprecedented fortune to get here. We're in the territory of needing a magic manager who makes everything and everyone suddenly click, or we are going to be also rans for quite some time. Madness.

I can see what you are saying with Konate, but it seems like he is the only one, Gomez sees as if not more injury prone than ever constantly picking up injuries.

The whole squad look absolutely knackered and have done all season, yet they are doing less running than they were under Klopp, performance levels have also been way down for many players and while fitness is not the sole reason it is presumably a factor.

Bradley went down after over stretching with no one near him, Isak's was a bad challenge, Endo got his boot caught in the ground and his leg caught under him but the others IIRC.

Luck plays a part but I don't think that explains it all
