People generally criticising Ekitike are knobheads - he's been a quality player but all players are allowed to lose some form from time to time.

Plus he’s had to lead the attack on his own with Isak being injured. He is looking tired and doesn’t have that same energy he did earlier in the season.Originally posted by DerKrampus View PostPeople generally criticising Ekitike are knobheads - he's been a quality player but all players are allowed to lose some form from time to time.

I think he's got the energy but he thrives off confidence and the team isn't playing well so he's not playing well.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Im not 100% convinced at all about Isak tbh, but I dont think Ekitike is reliable as a single frontman.
We seem to have spent 300m on 3 players without a proper plan for their use.
Hoprfully Isak can get fit and show some form by the end of the seson.
It feels like we need still need 2 wide players in the summer to.compliment our forward line, but it seems like.we dont have a properly established style or formation. In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

Cannot get over how unlucky our lads have been with injuries, they've been nasty injuries as well - freak injuries which is bizarre in itself but to see it happen to so many players in the same time is ****ing weird!Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. Suggestions that if it is what was suggested he could be out for 7-9 months that's the rest of 2026 at least if that's the case
Let's hope it's not as bad as is suggestedThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Is it luck or is it due to preseason and the fitness issues we have seen all season? So many players haven’t looked capable of playing 90mins at an appropriate level, loads have looked knackered from 60-70 mins many times. add to that a small squad and/or the manager only using a small number of players this type of thing feels somewhat inevitableOriginally posted by Slinky Skills View PostCannot get over how unlucky our lads have been with injuries, they've been nasty injuries as well - freak injuries which is bizarre in itself but to see it happen to so many players in the same time is ****ing weird! The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

A lot was made about how Feyenoord had low injury levels and keeping players fit would mean a smaller squad. Periodisation and all that. I suppose that also means you’re able to spend more per player and build a higher quality squad. Risky when things don’t go your way though, like this season. Also with Hugo, Isak, Leoni, Conor and Wataro, all having big injuries you have to wonder if this periodisation stuff prepares them properly for the physical rigour of a PL season.Never knowingly optimistic

Players that lack confidence usually go into hiding and treat the ball like a hot potato, getting rid of it as soon as possible. Hugo Ekitike is not one of those players, and I would go as far to say that one of his 'problems' is more likely to be over-confidence, as he as no problem with constantly taking on multiple opponents and possibly trying to do too much.Originally posted by kingfunk View PostComplete loss of confidence paired with inept tactical direction. It’s not just him. I’ll reserve judgement until we get a decent coach.
And his injury is ****ing disastrous.

I think we have enough injuries this season to confirm it doesn’t bloody work!Originally posted by Catrin View PostA lot was made about how Feyenoord had low injury levels and keeping players fit would mean a smaller squad. Not only that, many of the squad are struggling at 70+ minutes, which leaves us vulnerable to late goals. We are here for a good time not a long time....
