Yeah really impressed with him too.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

yeah those little flicks and link ups with Wirtz looked like they could cause some proper headaches for opponents. Good to see them already linking up so well. As they develop more chemistry it could be unreal.

Great touch and finish for his goal

Thought he was excellent, quick, aggressive, makes great runs & involved in some lovely moves. We lost our shape when he went off. Early days but impressed with his performance yesterday.

He's pretty strong too and doesn't appear to go to ground that easily.

Is it me or does he look a bit self conscious on the pitch?

He certainly gave himself a hard time for putting that header wide.
We are here for a good time not a long time....

Yeah lot of pressure I suppose & probably felt he could have had another goal. I thought he was great & hopefully he can keep progressing.

Would he not have been offside for the headed chance anyway? Looked like his leg was ahead of the last CP defender when the ball was crossed in?

The Macca handball I understand, his arms were up as part of the jumping procedure (hence a 'natural' position), he had lost flight of the ball, and his handling of the ball, if anything, did not affect the trajectory of the ball but rather cushioned it perfectly for the attacker to get a shot away. In the CL tho, it's a handball all day, but the rules in the PL are a bit more flexible.

The Wharton challenge....well, i dunno, I've seen lesser challenges get a red based on a 'still' of the impact and this one was up there in terms of that, so maybe they've redone the rules a little this season to not be quite so black and white about it, and to take the rest of the action into account?

I thought it was worse than the Jones red when his foot bounced off the ball against Spurs a couple of years ago.

I agree, it did look worse, which is why i wonder if the way these things are reviewed have been fine tuned a bit now over the past couple of years....don't just look at a still, but look at the force, the follow through etc....i mean, with the Wharton challenge, I couldn't see any stud marks at all on Frimpong's shin area, if he'd caught it full it would either have cut the skin or left a visible mark, so it must have been a glancing blow which the player milked a bit (as they all do these days).

Our management need to insist our players wear a proper full shin pad.
These players are club assets, and if they are damaged or unavailable because of clumsy tackles and designer toddler shin pads then it's really not good enough
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Yeah, I agree with that. Wearing a full shin pad should not affect player mobility or control, whilst adding extra protection so why do we let them wear these piddily little pads that do nothing to protect the shin.

Yep totally agree too. It should be compulsory for all players, not just ours
