Ekitike reminds me so much of Torres, the touch he has, the way he can nick it behind a player and his finishing one on one is almost identical. If he follows the same trajectory as Fernando Torres, he'll be scary good in the years to come.

He’s an incredible talent & has slotted straight in. ( no pun intended) He & Wirtz are cut from the same cloth with their close control & telepathic understanding.

Wirtz scored Liverpool's second goal of the game and although it was a team effort, Ekitike was the one to get the final touch before the young German put the ball into the back of the net.

And, thanks to that assist, the former Bundesliga players have assisted one another five times each across all competitions.

This statistic may not seem all that exciting but, as per an update from Opta journalist Michael Reid, it's the most from an under-23 duo since Michael Owen and Steven Gerrard in the 2003-04 season.

"Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike have now assisted each other 5 times in all competitions this season," he wrote via his personal X account.

"The most by two players aged 23 and younger for Liverpool since Michael Owen and Steven Gerrard in 2002-03 (6)."

Can’t wait to see them linking up when the team is in full flow and they have a more functioning team around them.

Nobody predicted he’d be this good.

It must be a weird feeling for Isak - effectively watching another player live his dream. Getting them to, and figuring out how they can, play together is going to be a big challenge for Slot / whomever.

Zero chance Hugo is here to play second fiddle.

And that's a monster of an issue. Hugo is undroppable
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

He is undroppable but thankfully it's not an issue this season as Isak's season is effectively over.

Gapko offers nothing so Isaak could play there til whoever is in charge works out how to get the best out of Isaak, Wirtz, Ekitike and Frimpong (for Salah) in attack.

Gakpo is good squad player and Mo is gone in the summer. Whether or not Isak and Frimpong could be the mainstays remains to be seen. Would be nice if they stayed fit for 5 seconds so we could see

You don't pay £130m to push a forward out wide. You sell him and bring in a back up to Hugo and a wide player.

Your not going to get 100m in the summer for a player with unproved fitness and we are not going to take a hit anywhere near 30m, someone would have to swallow a lorry load of pride!!

I think with Frimpong offering actual width and pace on the right we'd see a lot of interchange between the rest of the forward line. Isak played a lot of games for Newcastle starting on the left and like i said that would just be a way of getting him on the pitch in our current system which I doubt we'll be using next season.

Agree but he's on a huge contract so that won't be easy.

Think we will try and play both next year and take a good offer for either when they come in. Hopefully Isak at this moment.
