Think, especially in the UK, that anything done for Jota should consistof his song being belted out for a minute followed by cheers rather than silence.Originally posted by vlahka View PostI wouldnt have minded it too much had some of their fans not been cunts during Jota's shortened silence period. 3 different countries managed to respect it but these ******s at home couldnt even try.
That way you still celebrate and remember him, but any asshats, be they doing it on purpose or not (as in a drunk loud mouth rather than someone being vindictive), get drowned out by the singing.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

I suspect some of the reaction to the minutes silence was as a result of our fans booing the national anthem so loudly. That’s no excuse, but the anthem is far more likely to be belted out by a London-ish club, on a day out with a bunch of non-regulars in attendance because the tickets were relatively easy to get. That type of ‘fan’ just didn’t get our reaction to the anthem because they don’t appreciate our history and those idiots would likely take an immediate opportunity to respond.
I do see it as a blight on CP fans in general, there was plenty of ‘shhhhh’ from them too. Did they make any statement about it after the game?We are here for a good time not a long time....

Some of the camera footage seems to show that it was a couple of really loud guys shouting when the silence begun and then the Palace support around them started to heckle and shush them for breaking the silence, which of course made more noise and then it just spiraled into booing.
Might be wrong but I think the booing was a mix of some of us and some of the Palace support booing the breaking of the silence.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

You are probably right there. A couple of pissed up right wing ******s spoiling it for everyone. Singing and applause is a much better way to deal with these potential disruptions to a minute’s silence at games like that.Originally posted by Doc_Piptorious View PostSome of the camera footage seems to show that it was a couple of really loud guys shouting when the silence begun and then the Palace support around them started to heckle and shush them for breaking the silence, which of course made more noise and then it just spiraled into booing.

Totally agree. It stops potential ******s getting their 5 seconds of “ fame “
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Union Jack waving, faux-royalist, Tommy Robinson supporters then….?Originally posted by vlahka View PostNot sure what right wing has to do with anything. I say hecklers should be ejected from the stadium. I mean I'd prefer rounding them up and battoning them for a half hour but some might think I'm a little too extreme. Respect the minute silence or out with you.
I think your alternative to throwing them out of the stadium is a fantastic idea. Maybe round them up just before kick off and release them into the Liverpool end on the full time whistle?

I do. A thirty minute battoning just reeks of a half hearted job. You are taking thirty minutes for something that could be done in 60 seconds. This is not the private sector you know.

I much prefer the singing / applauding / generally making a raucous noise rather than a minute's silence, for the obvious reasons. Unfortunately those not observing the silence are doing no more wrong than those booing the national anthem from a legal perspective, provided whatever they are chanting is not hate speech, so unfortunately being forced to watch Everton really is too much.Really?
