I don’t think it was Dom that lost the ball for their second goal, it was a risky pass to nobody in particular across their box from Mo. It was his silly flick that lost the ball for their first one though. Their execution on that one was like us at our best. Konate’s defending for their second goal though……jeez.Never knowingly optimistic

I think a red card would be harsh in those circumstances for the reasons you mentioned. So I am not concerned about the outcome - from that point of view they made the correct decision.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostAgree, but VAR can't do anything about free kicks and yellow cards. If VAR thought it was accidental, they messed that up, but unless they would have deemed it an obvious goalscoring opportunity, it was a VAR **** up without consequence.
The problem for me is the process, sky said the VAR official said that it happened because it bounced up off his knee and hit his arm making it accidental, which anyone who watched the video could see wasn't the case. The PL statement said something different. If they had said that it wasn't a red card because...and therefore no freekick to Liverpool. I don't think anyone has a problem, it's a subjective decision and you can see why it's been made. But if you have differing explanations or the VAR officials say something which everyone at home can see is wrong then we are going to have problems, accusations, conspiracy theories etc.
The system isn't perfect but IMO 95%+ of the problems come from the incompetence of the operatorsThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

The ball isn't moved that much from the path it was on would be the only factor they could use in their weak defenceOriginally posted by Buzzo View Post

Which suggests to me that they were looking at the bounce onto the elbow and didn't even notice the subsequent slap of the ball.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostI think a red card would be harsh in those circumstances for the reasons you mentioned. It didn't move that much isn't a defence. And it did move. Anyway wasn't used.Originally posted by Norbs View PostThe ball isn't moved that much from the path it was on would be the only factor they could use in their weak defence
What they said, it was all part of the same move and wasn't intentional.
Obviously that was the wrong call. It wasn't really that hard of a call to make. Like Jamie said, I don't like seeing red cards for stuff like this and we ended up seeing a great game. But yeah VAR ****ed up again.
They're just a bunch of nerds that didn't make it at football so went into reffing, right. Which I kinda resemble myself. But I don't really understand why they make simple stuff look so difficult.

I don’t think that a DM is the antidote to those counter attacks.Originally posted by rudedog View PostLast season, we only conceded 2 goals to counter attacks. This season, we’ve conceded 2 in the first game.
We definitely need another defensive midfield to rotate with Gravenberch
It was the fullbacks that seemed most at fault imo.
Endo is a good enough back up even though he got caught out on the second counter that time.Y.N.W.A!!!!!!

Yes.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostGiving the ball away cheaply in attack was probably the biggest difference.
Also the centre backs being too far up the pitch meaning they can be caught out in a sprint or a clever diagonal pass.
We never need 8 players in the opposition box, it's school playground stuff.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

given the speed of the review, that’s highly likely.
