Why should they change tactics or formations? They put new players in and go along as usual. Why are we supposedly changing our system? Because trent and diaz are gone? We still won games when neither played. And lets not forget we won last season with ppossibly trents worst performance ever through majority of the season. It still doesnt explain why our midfield, who are still the same, dont know how to pass or even move properly.

Folks are only suggesting changing it.. to accommodate what we bought it seems.
Which is a big mistake imo and I dont see it happening. Play them and accept this period until they fit the system or introduce them more progressively.
Whatever we do, do not play 4-4-2 getting crosses in the box for two big men. It's not 1998 and we are not Blackburn Rovers.

I think people have been discussing the diamond 442 but I doubt it will happen. It'll be 433 all season with some tweaks IMO.Originally posted by BG1973 View PostFolks are only suggesting changing it.. to accommodate what we bought it seems.

I agree, our pre-season was difficult for everyone, but Jota's death aside, Mac was struggling with injury, Isak didn't have a pre-season and we're changing five positions in the starting XI. Of course we're going to be disjointed. Keep at it and I'm sure it'll come. Although I did find Kerkez' comments about Liverpool not playing to his strengths concerning.Originally posted by BG1973 View PostFolks are only suggesting changing it.. to accommodate what we bought it seems.

The volume of changes is a huge issue. The shirt looks heavy on some of the players and then some of the players who carried us last season are way out of form. My biggest worry in the summer wasn’t the quality of signings - it was the volume of them. Looking for that many players to anrrive and bed in instantly is a massive ask. It’s an ask when it is one or two but when it’s six or seven it’s a problem. The challenges come thick and fast so we are going to have to resolve this pretty quickly and some huge decisions have to be made.Modifying post.

we had two new players today and one was a goalkeeper, the other was a striker with 23 league goals last season. The performance should not look like that.Originally posted by The_weatherman View PostI agree, our pre-season was difficult for everyone, but Jota's death aside, Mac was struggling with injury, Isak didn't have a pre-season and we're changing five positions in the starting XI. i'd love a count of how many overlaps has he done this season and been ignored by Gakpo this seasonOriginally posted by The_weatherman View PostI agree, our pre-season was difficult for everyone, but Jota's death aside, Mac was struggling with injury, Isak didn't have a pre-season and we're changing five positions in the starting XI. The team is not balanced and we have no Mane and Salah from 4 years ago. We also don't have a Diaz from last seasons to create space.
The season is over, top 4 is the objective.

He has to do something, the same **** over and over and over isn't working and the players look so uncomfortable across the board. We have some really difficult games coming up and there is a clear and obvious blue print to be effective against us and with the money we have spent, that should not be the case. We have some serious issues, it's very worrying.

100% never gonna happenOriginally posted by Rich View PostIt’s not going to happen but I’d give this front 3 a go
Wirtz - Ekitike - Chiesa
Can’t be worse than what’s been served up so far…
I think Ekitike should start imo
Chiesa, one of the few positives this season, on merit deserves a go..but wont.
Wirtz i always wondered where he'd play for us. we appear to be shoehorning him in atm. he was good when he came on today
