What did you accomplish?

I avoided being unbelievably bored, avoided getting pissed off at performances I expected, avoided having to come to the forums and vent with my fellow venters, mockery from my utd mates did nothing since I'd checked out, managed to watch a bunch of tv shows and movies I was behind in, and over all was in a far happier frame of mind till he left and I came back to watching.

I don’t see a lack of effort or giving a **** among the players.

Just a lot of disfunction in the team setup and a critical drop off in form in some key players.

They delivered the league title last season and it was largely the same players going again game after game every 3 or 4 days. Then they were hit by a tragedy in preseason, which seems to be getting overlooked or forgotten about already.

European games are a bit of an escape from the league right now. Less focus and not as fussed because it’s always the league you want to win more than anything else. Plus you get to play a bunch of different teams rather than the same ones as usual. When’s it tougher times it’s the league games I don’t look forward to watching like this weekend. Away to Brentford won’t be a fun watch in current form.

I think we keep forgetting the Jota part and with how close these players become and how much time away they spend together we just don’t know what they are really feeling. VVD mentioned it after a recent defeat. I’m not knocking the singing of his song or saying it should stop but that might be having an impact on some players. Don’t forget the pitch might be an escape for players like it is for fans and a chance to get away from how you feel in real life. And that feeling around the team could be making it a difficult place for the new players to settle.

It was also such a settled starting 11 that didn’t change much over the season and they got on a roll to right from the start under a new manager when it was fresh after a long time under the previous manager. Everything clicked in to gear right from the off. I think what’s happened this season is what plenty expected to some degree last season as they adjusted to the new manager.

Other than Salah, who looks less and less like a team man, the rest of the team are looking confused rather than ambivalent

Mac Allister has had a huge drop in form but Konate shook that off at the weekend so hopefully there will be a turnaround in him too. Jones looks more than capable to step in

You can all say the same things about why we're not playing well, jota this, new players that, but I still believe its got nothing to do with any of that. Just look at the pic kingfunk posted. This is our tactics and setup during games. Last year you would never have seen this. In fact I dont believe I've ever seen this before. Everyone knows where they should be. Except this season where they dont. This is pure braindead tactics. Everything happening is 90% on slot.

Football is just a distraction from real life **** for a period of time, I love it but ultimately in the scale of things it means **** all. Money has absolutely ruined football & yeah I look at ticket prices, how much I'd have to pay for a hotel, flights and am like **** that I'll go to Europe for a week. Same as the cost of Sky and BT, **** that I'll get a dodgy & the same as 100 quid for a ****ing, eh I'll get one for 15 quid from Asia that looks nearly identical. I don't mind paying money. people making their margin and me contributing to something I really enjoy but there are limits & the limits were breached a long, long time ago.

Regarding the teams performance, it's incredibly frustrating for sure & apart from Slot having a bit of a nightmare with our setup, the lads haven't putting in a shift either (Szob apart maybe).. so yeah I get it.

Fair enough on spending to go to games but in terms of meaning **** all that's miles off.

The arts and entertainment mean absolutely everything and that includes football. What is life without them?

Title challenge over in October. Slot's had an absolute mare of a start to the season and seems unable or unwilling to learn any lessons. The huge summer spend spree has been mostly wasted on unsuitable players. It was unimaginable in the summer, but there's a non-zero chance of the manger getting the boot before the end of the season. Trying to consolidate success has turned into a **** show. I'm sure someone at the club will be conducting an inquest as we speak.
