Yeah - I don’t think we’ve known a period like this definitely the biggest transfer window of the prem era for us.

We are also 4 points up on the corresponding fixtures from last year

It’s an exciting time to be a Red.

Bournemouth game is a bit like Forest last season when it looked like we’d lost our way but at that point nobody realised the force Forest would be. Hats off to Iraola he’s had his team plundered and they already look excellent.

Our first 3 games were ****ing hard when you see how Bournemouth took Spurs apart and given how physical they all are. 9 points from that while bedding in new players and being down a few in the squad in an excellent squad.

When you factor in the transfer business which on paper seems insanely good then being a Red right now is ****ing unbelievably positive

The order of fixtures was announced yesterday
17/9 home v Athletico Early KO afterwards)
30/9 Galatasaray away Away to Palace, long trip to Turkey, away to Chelsea afterwards. Brutal run of games.
22/10 Frankfurt away United beforehand, then long trip to Brentford afterwards.
4/11 home v Madrid Away to City afterwards
26/11 home v PSV No issues
9/12 Inter away No isues
21/1 Marseille away Long trip to Bournemouth afterwards.
28/1 home v Qarabag

We have Everton (home) and Brentford (away) as Saturday 12.30’s after Athletico (home) and Frankfurt (away) which is not ideal but could be worse.

Brentford moved to 8pm because we are away on the Wed night, but I think it's a brutal run of fixtures for us, with so many challenges.

It's hard not to be a bit excited about what this team will become. We have a world class player finding his feet, a potential world class player in the making on the wing, and a world class striker hopefully on his way in the next day or two.

We've not played that well so far but we have maximum points and our rivals don't

What a ****ing season… ALREADY

3 absolutely massive moments in the first three games.

It’s been a tough start to the season but there we are sat on top with 9 points and loads of improvements ahead of us. We’ve only really played well in fits and bursts in maybe 2 of the games. We’ve also rammed a massive element of self doubt into Arsenal and City still look disjointed…

Wasnt Gerrard injury prones at this sort of age? I wouldnt write him off just yet, but it is a major bummer.

At the same age (and easy to compare games totals vs age as both are born in May) Gerrard was on his third season as more or less a full starter (not including his first season of getting a small number of games) and was racking up between 31 and 50 games in all comps in each of those seasons.

If he doesn't prove his durability this season, I think we will need to find another right back next summer, unfortunately
