It's working out, but our game plan really sucked. Long balls to the wings but there wasn't much space, and the passes were bad. The midfield were far too scared of holding on to the ball and the time wasting at the back was unwelcome. The goal was a good finish but came out of nowhere reall, and if Newcastle were any good they'd have scored. Felt like we planned to play the crowd too much.

Slow started and under some pressure but just before the goal they got more of the ball and slowed it right down. That goal took all of the Newcastle steam in the crowd and on the field out of the game.

Want to be big club with showing their real small club mentality.

They were playing two parked buses most of that first half and that was before the sending off. We made stupid passes (Konate and Grav) that were giving them unnecessarily good breaks. Once Arne cut that **** out the frustration set in and Gordon complied like a moth to fire.

Hooper as culpable for the red as Gordon. It was inevitable that a few bad ones would come in when heads went, after letting them away with everything all game.

Trippier kicking, pushing, tripping Gakpo every time.

He needs time to get used to a non farmers league. He'll be fine as he's getting great experience.

Hopefully he digs in and doesn't get discouraged.

I've got stick for saying this before, but games like this are why Konate isn't a top top CB

tbh I agree. I think he's good but his mentality is questionable. I wouldn't object to him coming off at half time (and being sold, tbh).

I disagree. Decent game management.

We're also trying to isolate Gakpo against Trippier and use his height advantage and would have worked well with a proper ref..

Yep had to agree with that. If a ref doesn’t stamp it out early on or at least have a word with them it just gets worse with the crowd baying for blood. Here’s hoping we really put them to the sword now.
