Ah, I've never liked Keane. I think he's a hypocritical knob head given to violent outbursts as a player, but to be fair to him, he says it like he sees it and in a pundit, that's fine.

The halaand tackle aside which was awful, can't fault his game, he was a brilliant CM, with near perfect blend of aggression, drive and technique.
As he gets older he seems to be softening a bit, less spiky.. but still has an edge the others lack. I like listening to him and think he seems a good guy. Still humble and loves the game.

I will never knock Roy Keane. The man is generally a lovely gentle character away from the camera. Is he spikey when poressed? Sure. Does he stand his ground when he thinks he needs to? Yes. But he has never forgotten his roots and never forgotten the fact that his profile and wealth is something he can use to help others.
Spoke about it before in this forum, but he is involved with a few charities and organisations that I have my own ties with and Roy Keane will turn up and just make sandwiches, serve folk and take time to sit and talk and he does it without any cameras following him and with no media person leaking it on his behalf.
Have stood shoulder to shoulder with him in Penny Diners in Cork just prepping and serving food along with washing pots and pans and the guy just gets on with things and is really nice to chat with.
He will also let any of the charities or organisations use his name for any fund raising drives or when they need a boost to their own name. Again with no drams, no fanfare and no primadonna stuff from Roy Keane. Same way he slips funds to places with no mentions of it to the press.
The man worked hard to get to the top of his profession, he deservedly has lovely homes and looks out for his family, but the boy who grew up in a less than affluent part of Cork city has never gone away and he has never forgotten what it means to be from a working class background.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
