Just move the ball forward a bit quicker, play a higher line, press like ****, force turnover, rapid attack, not this tippy tappy slowly slowly catchy monkey ****e, is that too much to ask for?

        pretty much

Pass the ball quicker, don't go backwards as much, don't be afraid to lose the ball when going forward. Hey, even shoot more when you get the opportunity instead of trying to square it to a packed box, deflections and rebounds happen - Frank Lampard made a career out of them.

Because it cant be any worse than what we're currently seeing them all do.

Slot wont change a thing though.

Yeah this slow play at the back is doing us no favours, VvD is the only one that's really comfortable in the ball. Allison isn't great on the ball, Bradley is ok technically, Konate is a beast but not great in the ball, Gomez is ok on the ball, Robbo is ok on the ball and Kerkez never looks like he has the ball under control. We don't have the players at the back that are so good on the ball that we can move it around to open teams up or break a press and transition to attack in a heartbeat likes of PSG. Imo that's why high pressing teams or hard working are having success against us and why we keep giving the ball away in dangerous positions.

It's a very frustrating style of play to watch as it also gives lesser sides more time to set up blocks and getting into defensive setups. We are completely relying on individual brilliance at the moment which works sometimes but as a team vs a style vs the players we have, the harmony and balance is not there and Slot has to make some big decisions and play the players that works best for the team.

Allison is fairly good on the ball for a goalkeeper.
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

The reason the defence are ****ing around with the ball is because the movement in front of them hasn’t been there. The defenders we have are more than capable of making passes, it’s up to the receivers to give them decent options.

We are definitely missing Trent’s long passing though, that was as an extra weapon we no longer have

He's the best in the world but there has been multiple, ,multiple, multiple occasions when he puts defenders under pressure with dodgy passing. Wouldn't trade him for anyone else though

yeah certainly wouldn't disagree with that, the movement to receive the ball has been atrocious too. Imo is both.

I think we are trying to bait the team in and play through the first line of the press. Some sit off and we tip it around to draw them in. It’s the same with Grav, teams now know if you go tight he’ll roll you and he’s gone so they sit off.

With the level of analysis available you have to be always adapting to create unpredictability in your play…… unless you are Arjen Robben, everyone knew what he’d do but could never stop him

Is Federico fit for this one? If he is, might he start on the left?

No I dont think so. They act like noones moving but theres been so many times when wirtz or grav or someone was in the middle running to the side and they just passed it sideways, made me scream. And the amount of times you see one of our forwards stick their arm out to show they're about to make a break and start, but instead of passing through to them or crossing it up and over, they again sto0p, turn, and pass sideways. If I was one of those people who throw a controller down when angry, it would have gone through my tv. Luckily I'm a placid slut.

They're doing it on purpose to drag the other team forward, pretending that we have noone in space and trying to trick them into thinking we're thickos without a clue to come and try to steal it, opening up for us to run forward. But we're the ones being the thickos. Proper thicky holden level.

                          .
Yep I’ve observed plenty of times where there’s willing runners being overlooked which must be frustrating. There’s a definite disconnect that needs to be addressed soon.

After seeing Wirtz's move being debated so much the last week, I now want him to start, this is the game where he delivers.
                            * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

I know this is very unlikely to be the team but it would be interesting to see.

                              Mama
Bradley Gomez / Konate VVD Kerkez
                              Gravenberch Alexis
                              Wirtz
                              Chiesa Isak Dom

The only area I wouldn’t know who to pick would be Konate or Gomez. Konate is just as likely right now to have a great game or another poor one.

Dom and Chiesa out wide give us great work rate and pressing high up the pitch which has been lacking plus a lot more threat in attack as they’re both in form.

I’d back Alexis to find his form sooner rather than later and that makes a massive difference to the team.

Isak starts as he’s the better player and needs more games plus Ekitike picked up his little knock so there is no need to start him. Like Alexis once Isak gets full fit he’ll make a big difference.

Then you have some players coming off the bench with a point to prove.

Bring back the Beardsley & Rush/Aldridge duo in Wirtz & Ekitike/Isak.
