That Howard webb interview (pr) was bollocks alright.
Arsenal fan had a clip talking about Michael Oliver and his bias towards man city with **** loads of examples. This is another one for **** sake. The doku kick on Macca a couple of years ago one of the worst but loads of others too. If Ferguson was still around, there is no ****in way Oliver would get to ref a manc derby.

I think this sums up what fans from every club, except one club, think. If managers and players performed at the level the refs did they’d be sacked or sold but these guys keep getting away with it.

There is always room for interpretation on a decision like that and that's how they saw it on the day. If inconsistency is the issue then the only solution is that every scenario like that is offside and we'd all hate that when it didn't favour us.
And I do think there is a case for impeding because he does limit the path keeper can dive in... i dont think it would have made a difference but it is a factor to consider.
However... saying all that, in this particular case they gave it for line of sight blocking only which is nonsense. And Webb should have been there to comment on that specific point and not come up with any other explanations of his own.Last edited by BG1973; 13-11-25, 03:53 AM.Comment

Aswell as Akes goal vs Fulham in 2023 which was over turned for the exact reason Liverpools was chalked off & is so much more blatant than both Robbo's & Silvas... dun dun dun Michael Oliver again. Both 'moved away' but yet completely opposite decisions. Sky love it. They make money from showing the game, they make money from replaying and discussing the controversial decision, then they make money from the PGMOL representative defending it.
It's our national game. Sky are just a match broadcaster, they don't own the games, or own the results, or own the refereeing decisions, or own access to officials and the PGMOL. The head of the PGMOL 'explaining' decisions should not sit behind a paywall.
