Yep! Loads of experience. I doubt he'd sign for us.

**** no! He spends more time injured than Joe Gomez and he's 3 years older

Considering we are losing Mo and Robbo and potentially Ali his leadership behind the scenes would be needed and the home grown spot he adds to the squad which we need to be careful about.

If he can stand up to the rigours of the English game

He was throwing the likes of Lukaku around at 18 and he's spent the time out putting on some muscle. He's an absolute tank.

Getting to that stage where the links for players are starting to come out and from the more reliable sources.

It’s looking like two wingers. Diomande and Barcola are the main names. Barcola was strongly linked last season but Diomnade seems like the one the club really wants. I doubt it’s both with one of these as the main winger and another lower profile winger would be my guess.

Wharton sounds like the main midfield target. He’s probably seen as the Trent replacement

We’ve got Jacquet coming in already but again strong links to Sensi. It seems like if we can get another experienced CB in one of those market opportunities we’d sign one. van Hecke is the other name.

And then the assistant Slot couldn’t bring over originally coming in and replacing van Bronckhorst who looks to be off. That could be interesting because a good assistant can make a massive difference.

Unless Timmy stays a new leftback will be needed and then what happens at right back. Does Frimpong cover right wing and another right back comes in.

Almost all of the names we are starting to get solidly linked with, save for Wharton imo, make a hell of a lot of sense in terms of complimenting the players we currently have.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Agree. The two wingers will be a massive upgrade. Maybe we can get lucky and do a double like Ekitike and Isak with both of the top targets. Wharton and two wingers as the big money signings like Isak, Ekitike and Wirtz.

And Senesi could bring in some more leadership qualities. And if it is VVD last season at 28 he could be a potential replacement for that left sided role but still old enough to let the two younger CB’s take over eventually.

I know you’ve talked about having a more physical presence next to Wharton if he was signed. Could Szoboszlai be that player? I’m not sure Slot wants that type of physical player in midfield which is a worry. But then it looks like both Mac Allister and Jones could be off so maybe it would be Wharton and another to balance it out.

It could be another big spending offseason. The club had more room to spend big last season so maybe this will be part two with big wages off with Salah and some good sales.

Lot of links online to Wharton now, looks like it may be on.
