Gerrard would do a far better job of it. His engine is better, he times his tackles better and he wouldn't give the ball away if in that role.

Momo can disrupt play, he has nothing else to offer. This does not make him a fantastic player, one that will go down in our history books as being one of our all time greats.
But the stats show that Momo wins back possesion much more Sir Stevie. A ration of about 5:1. Can Stevie do that no? As you say Momo is a defensive player, Sir Stevie is an attacking player. It's all about balance, and at the end of the day, Momo is a key part of that 'balance'.

Its these comparisons to players like vieira, hamman and makalele that are probably doing the lad damage. I think you're bigging him up too much for a player that has such obvious weaknesses.

Nobody disagrees that he is probably a right pain in the arse to play against, but his passing and distribution is not just poor, its been awful, and until I see a huge improvement in this area I won't be convinced in the slightest.

I really do hope he can become this great player, but I worry when a professional player can hardly ever complete a pass, surely this is the sort of thing that should be second nature?

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

Maybe we should find some stats on him for the last two games.

He might be winning it back, but its normally the result of him giving it away in the first place!

That stat is completely open to interpretation.

I don't do stats, they can all be manipulated too much

Remember Houllier, always banging on about us not being boring as we'd have had the most shots over 90 minutes. Nevermind that the opposition had 6 clear cut chances and we had 10 shots from 30 yards.

momo did a fantastic job in midfield, i don't think there is a player in the world that brakes up play more than he does, his distribution is still not good enough but most of the times he gave it away he won it back...

kuyt, was a great midfielder today

Well you are right. I did feel though that the passes that where of where mostly the ones passed forward. If he passes to the side or back he´s ok.

And I think that one attempt on goal shows that his brain is a bit further developed then his limbs. Also, that took a lot of skill to pull of that well.

Now I say again. When his limbs catch up, he will be great.

Lets hope so, however, I fear we may be here again in a couple of weeks

This guy has been immense in the last two games...

The whole defence played really well tonight - they stuck to Rafa's instructions.

A side note - I think Stevie's matured a great deal as a captain this season
                            Another MASSIVE game

                              We need better attacking players!
