Just wondering if the deal does go through we will revert back to old badge ala chelski? I for one would love just to have the old liverbird back with maybe the 2 flames still there, i see no reason to have the gates on the badge...

Chelsea only changed their badge due to it being their 100th anniversary. Whether or not it stays that way who knows?Originally posted by joshyorkshire View Postdidn't chelsea revert back to their original badge, away from that 80's nightmare?
All i am saying is that i have always prefered the simple liverbird.
Can't really see any reason why new owners would change our badge TBH.

Thought the Chelsea badge looked horrendous aswell. Like a badly done Photoshop fake or somethingOriginally posted by Slim View PostChelsea only changed their badge due to it being their 100th anniversary. Whether or not it stays that way who knows?

Even though I welcome it with open arms , we will not go back to the old badge because apparently there are copyright issues if the Liver Bird is too large a component of the badge because it is a civic symbol of the city."Man will never be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest."

I LOVED the old badge, a simple understated sign of our identity/roots and our greatness.
However, the new badge has been changed and incorporates many vital components of our recent history.
A badge is something we shouldn't be messing around with and once every 100 years is enough for me. I think if we changed it back it might be badly received by the Hillsbrough relatives etc.*
* that was a really badly phrased paragraph but my brain won't let me get my point across better
